Starting from 2025, my country will officially launch a special project to upgrade standards in key traditional industries such as building materials, machinery, and petrochemicals.
As an important basic raw material and product industry for the development of my country’s national economy, the building materials industry covers three categories: building materials, non-metallic minerals and products, and new inorganic non-metallic materials.
In this national standard upgrade, the building materials industry shoulders an important mission and will complete the development of 424 key national standards by the end of 2027.
At present, the building materials industry has achieved phased results, and more than 120 national standards have been completed and issued. The implementation of these standards has effectively supported the optimization and upgrading of the building materials industry.
For a long time, “unable to understand and choose” building materials products has been a headache for consumers.
However, the emergence of ceramic tile quality grading standards has changed this situation. This standard for the first time divides the quality of building materials products into three grades from high to low: 5A, 4A, and 3A, giving consumers a clear basis for selecting materials and making the choice easier.
In addition, in response to issues such as the volatilization of toxic and harmful substances after decoration that consumers are widely concerned about, relevant departments have developed national standards such as methods for measuring the release of volatile organic compounds in decorative materials, and methods for testing the formaldehyde removal performance of photocatalytic materials and products.
These standards provide an effective methodological basis for scientifically evaluating product pollutant indicators and improving indoor air quality, which greatly protects the health and rights of consumers.
As a basic, strategic and pillar industry for the development of the national economy, the machinery industry’s national standards mainly involve basic technology, general machinery, basic parts and other fields.
At present, the machinery industry is actively promoting the development of more than 800 national standards. These standards cover the entire industry chain of R&D and design, production and manufacturing, inspection and testing, and application services.
In terms of intelligent development, the machinery industry is building an intelligent equipment standard system to help realize AI intelligent maintenance and flexible production.
At the same time, a number of unmanned standards such as Beidou autonomous driving for agricultural machinery have also been launched, which will accelerate the transformation of agricultural production from traditional manual farming to efficient operation and unmanned operation, and further improve the efficiency and quality of agricultural production.
The standard upgrading work in my country’s key traditional industries is progressing steadily. The formulation and implementation of standards in industries such as building materials and machinery will provide a solid guarantee for the high-quality development of the industry and the better life of consumers.
