In the first two months of this year, my country’s machinery industry production and investment showed a good start.
From the perspective of production and supply, the growth rate has accelerated, market demand has also risen steadily, new productive forces have continued to grow and expand, and the economic operation has started strongly, achieving a good start.
According to relevant data, from January to February this year, the added value of the five major industries mainly involved in the machinery industry maintained a year-on-year growth trend.
Among them, the general equipment manufacturing industry increased by 8.9%, the special equipment manufacturing industry increased by 8.8%, the automobile manufacturing industry increased by 3.4%, the electrical machinery and equipment manufacturing industry increased by 8.7%, and the instrumentation manufacturing industry increased by 7.8%.
It is worth noting that the equipment manufacturing industry grew well in the first two months of this year, with added value increasing by 9.3% year-on-year, 3.0 percentage points faster than the added value of all industries above designated size.
The head of the China Machinery Industry Federation said that 2026, the first year of the “15th Five-Year Plan”, will anchor the development of the equipment manufacturing industry in the direction of intelligence, greenness, and integration, and promote the construction of a modern industrial system with advanced manufacturing as the backbone.
This development direction is not only in line with the current development trend of global manufacturing, but will also inject new impetus into the sustainable development of my country’s machinery industry.
On the implementation path, the president of the China Machinery Industry Federation pointed out that “three reinforcements” must be done.
The first is to strengthen the reconstruction of the industrial base and focus on weak links such as industrial motherboards, high-end chips, and basic software.
These fields are the foundation for the development of the machinery industry. Only by laying a solid foundation can high-quality development of the industry be achieved.
The second step is to strengthen research on major technical equipment and promote the research and development of iconic products such as high-end medical equipment, precision instruments, and advanced agricultural machinery and equipment.
The successful research and development of these products will enhance my country’s competitiveness in the field of high-end equipment manufacturing.
The last step is to strengthen quality brand building and enhance the international reputation of “Made in China”.
By improving product quality and service levels, we can create a brand with international influence and make “Made in China” more competitive in the global market.
In general, the good start of the machinery industry in the first two months of this year has laid a solid foundation for the development of the whole year.
