When industrial robots need to grasp special-shaped workpieces, tighten screws, or perform precision assembly, traditional suction cups and grippers are often unable to meet their needs.
Industrial-grade dexterous hands are becoming a key component to solve these flexible manufacturing pain points, but their large-scale popularity has been limited by high costs and customized production.
Recently, Wuxi Lingzhang Robot Technology Co., Ltd. announced that the first phase of an industrial dexterous hand production line with an annual output of 10,000 units is planned to be officially put into production in the third quarter of 2026.
This not only marks the start-up’s release of production capacity for this less than two-year-old start-up, but may also become an important turning point for the industrial dexterous hand track from laboratory prototypes to factory assembly lines.

Capacity release: Tens of thousands of production lines are on the line, and intended orders support mass production
Lingzhang Robot was established in September 2024. After achieving sample and small batch sales in 2025, it quickly set its sights on large-scale production.
Dr. Xu, the company’s co-founder and CTO, said that the company will enter the production capacity release stage in 2026 and has sufficient reserves of intended orders.
The company has carried out in-depth cooperation with a number of industry leading companies, and completed prototype testing and on-site verification on multiple projects.
Production line construction is one of the company’s key tasks this year, aiming to promote the leap from “small batch customization” to “large-scale delivery”.
This capacity layout is not a castle in the air.
Lingzhang Robot has recently been unveiled at international industry conferences such as Robotics Summit & Expo 2026 in Boston, USA, and ICRA 2026 in Vienna, Austria, and its products have attracted industry attention.
At the same time, Wuxi’s complete local industrial chain provides support, from precision screws to testing equipment, forming an efficient “one-hour supporting circle.”

Product hard core: two main models, targeting industrial rigid needs
Industrial scenarios require equipment with high load, high reliability and long life.
Lingzhang Robot has built a product matrix with LZ-Pro and LZ-Explore as the core.
LZ-Pro has 11 degrees of freedom and a dynamic load of 15 kg.
LZ – Explore has been upgraded to 23 degrees of freedom and a dynamic load of up to 30 kg.
Both main products can achieve a fingertip force of 40N and promise a cycle life of more than 2 million times.
Some public information shows that the service life of its products has even exceeded 3 million times.
These parameters directly address the rigid needs of industries such as logistics handling, precision assembly, and special operations.
Technical moat: bionic tendon hybrid drive and full-stack self-research
On the technical path, the industry has not yet emerged with a universal solution and is still in the stage of “a hundred schools of thought contending”.
The Lingzhang robot chose the bionic tendon-rope hybrid drive route.
Dr. Xu, the company’s CTO, pointed out that it is difficult for a single transmission method to take into account flexibility, load capacity and reliability, and the hybrid transmission solution of “tendon + direct drive” is becoming an important direction in the evolution of the industry.
“Our positioning can be summarized as ‘vertical scenarios + full-stack self-research + dexterous operation model.’” So far, the company has self-developed a number of core joint products and a series of mass-produced industrial dexterous hands.
This full-stack self-research capability aims to reduce dependence on overseas core components and lay the foundation for subsequent cost reductions.
Scene implementation: Focusing on three major areas, it has entered the quartz welding process
Unlike consumer-grade products that pursue anthropomorphic appearance, industrial-grade dexterous hands first solve the rigid needs of the production site.
Lingzhang robot focuses on three core application scenarios: box handling and sorting in factory logistics and warehousing, sorting, testing and assembly of automobile and electronic parts, and high-temperature welding of quartz products in the semiconductor and photovoltaic fields.
The corresponding customer groups include unmanned logistics companies, auto parts manufacturers, quartz product companies, etc.
It is reported that its products have been integrated into the quartz welding process, proving their application capabilities under harsh and special working conditions.
In addition, the company is also adapting to humanoid robot landing scenarios and the needs of high-end equipment manufacturing companies.
Cost reduction and future layout: price challenges and space experiments after scale-up
Currently, a major obstacle to the scale of industrial dexterous hands is cost.
The price of a single unit is about 30,000 to 50,000 yuan.
Dr. Xu analyzed that this is mainly because products are still mainly customized and produced in small batches, and core motors, sensors and other components are restricted by overseas suppliers.
However, with the commissioning of 10,000 units of production lines, the advancement of domestic supply chain independence and large-scale procurement, the company predicts that by 2027, comprehensive costs are expected to drop by 30% to 40%, and product selling prices will be reduced simultaneously.
This is expected to allow more small and medium-sized enterprises to use dexterous hands and promote the upgrade of automation to precise operations.
The future R&D layout will point to broader areas.
The company’s key tasks this year include completing the development and certification of explosion-proof dexterous hands and promoting space testing of aerospace-grade dexterous hands.
This shows that its technological boundaries are expanding from traditional factories to special scenarios such as energy, chemical industry, aerospace and aerospace.
Industry turning point: the leap from technology verification to large-scale delivery
The rapid progress of the Smart Palm Robot reflects the heating up of the entire dexterous hand track.
Dr. Xu observed that the dexterous hand track has entered a period of rapid development, with rapid technology iteration and continued release of market demand.
Although market competition intensifies, there are still opportunities for start-ups that focus on vertical scenarios, accumulate real machine data, and conduct full-stack self-research.
Actions have also been taken at the capital level.
Listed company Kailong High-tech has invested in Lingzhang Robot. The latter also said that it will simultaneously promote financing work and accelerate technology iteration and scenario implementation.
From its establishment in September 2024 to the planned production line of 10,000 units in the third quarter of 2026, Lingzhang Robot has completed the key stage from technology verification to large-scale implementation in less than two years.
When these “hands” with flexible grasping capabilities enter the factory in batches, it will not only release the production capacity of a single enterprise, but also a substantial advancement of industrial automation towards higher flexibility and wider boundaries.
The cost reduction and reliability verification brought about by large-scale mass production will become the next touchstone for whether industrial dexterous hands can truly become popular.
