Shandong’s electromechanical equipment sector aims to achieve revenue exceeding 400 billion yuan by the end of the year across six major areas.

Seven departments in Shandong Province have jointly issued a work plan focusing on six key areas; by leveraging the synergy between supply and demand, they aim to push main business revenue beyond 400 billion yuan by year-end and establish a high-quality development system.

Recently, seven departments, including the Shandong Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology, jointly issued the “Shandong Province Machinery and Power Equipment Industry Stabilization and Growth Work Plan.” This plan focuses on six key areas: industrial machine tools, agricultural machinery, construction machinery, robots, instruments and meters, and power equipment. Shandong will accelerate the promotion and application of equipment through coordinated efforts on both the supply and demand sides. The goal is to achieve a main business revenue exceeding 400 billion yuan in these six key areas by the end of 2026, and to initially establish an innovation-driven, complete, and high-quality development system for the machinery and power equipment industry. Regarding innovation, Shandong supports enterprises in jointly building manufacturing innovation centers and key laboratories with universities and research institutes in the six key areas. Collaborative research is being conducted on fundamental and key technologies such as high-precision spindles, intelligent electronic control systems, embodied intelligent large-scale models, new energy storage, and nanometer-level precision detection. Simultaneously, the construction of pilot-scale verification platforms is being promoted, with pilot-scale bases established in fields such as industrial machine tools, robots, intelligent testing equipment, and power equipment to bridge the “last mile” of technology transfer. Furthermore, efforts are being made to connect with national major science and technology projects and key R&D programs to attract more innovative resources to Shandong. To promote the stability of existing industry sectors, Shandong is deepening collaboration between OEMs and application units, leveraging the equipment upgrade needs of automobile manufacturing, energy equipment, and electronic information industries. Focusing on common weaknesses in sectors such as high-end bearings, precision sensors, and industrial software, a comprehensive industrial chain investment map and demand list are being created to attract and cultivate a number of “gap-filling” enterprises. Leveraging its advantages in collaborative robots, special robots, and core components of reducers, Shandong continues to solidify the scale of its robotics industry.

In terms of application and promotion, Shandong has taken multiple measures. On the one hand, it promotes the application of advanced and applicable agricultural machinery and equipment, drives the application of intelligent medical and health care equipment such as medical robots, accelerates the implementation of major projects such as large-scale onshore wind power and photovoltaic bases, offshore wind power, and coastal nuclear power, and promotes the large-scale application of intelligent equipment in the fields of automobiles, electronics, aerospace, and power equipment. On the other hand, it actively develops new business forms and models such as the silver economy, smart logistics, and smart agriculture, using the new demands of intelligent equipment to drive the new development of the industry.

These measures taken by Shandong Province are of great significance to promoting the development of the machinery and power equipment industry. They can not only enhance the overall innovation capability and competitiveness of the industry, but also promote industrial upgrading and high-quality economic development.

With clear goals and concrete implementation paths, it is expected that the main business revenue in six key areas will exceed 400 billion yuan by the end of the year, injecting new momentum into Shandong’s economic development.
