In the past ten years, the domestic smart home market has experienced explosive growth, with its scale soaring from 62 billion yuan to 815.4 billion yuan. Whole-house intelligence has gradually entered thousands of households.
But behind the hot market, poor user experience has become a common problem for most users. The seemingly convenient smart devices have actually caused a lot of trouble at home.

Relevant surveys by the Jiangsu Consumer Protection Commission intuitively reveal the current status of the industry. Nearly 60% of consumers encounter various problems when using smart homes. More than half of them simply put aside their built-in smart functions because the operation process is too complicated.
Mobile phones are filled with multiple control apps, voice commands are often ignored by devices, and different home appliances cannot be linked and adapted. These have become three common problems in smart homes. Many people lament that most smart products today are just fake intelligence.
Faced with the industry’s pain points, major brands have embarked on differentiated development routes. Some focus on super APP integrated device entrances, and some are deeply involved in voice wake-up to improve response speed. Midea has chosen to reconstruct the whole-house intelligent logic from the underlying system, jumping out of the inherent framework of single-product intelligence.
Relying on annual R&D investment of over 10 billion and technology accumulation in global lighthouse factories, Midea has brought hard-core technologies such as industrial automation and AI perception decision-making to home scenarios, and will officially launch the Midea Meixiangjia whole-house smart suite in March 2026.
Different from the stacking of ordinary smart single products, this set of products covers all categories of home hardware such as air conditioners, kitchen appliances, and smart switches. Relying on the AI Xiaomei Butler as the whole-house control center, it completely changes the traditional smart home model of passively waiting for instructions, enabling devices to cooperate independently and actively learn users’ living habits.

In actual home scenarios, the advantages of this smart system are fully demonstrated.
In the kitchen scene, a simple cooking command can trigger the whole scene linkage. The lights will turn on automatically, the range hood will adjust the suction power according to the oil temperature, and the kitchen appliances will be preheated simultaneously. It can also intelligently recommend recipes, remind about ingredients that are due, and monitor gas, water leakage and other safety hazards in real time.
In the bedroom, it can better understand the user’s hidden needs, automatically adapt to the sleep mode, independently adjust the air conditioning temperature and humidity late at night, and link purification equipment. It can also recognize dialects and vague spoken expressions, and can predict the user’s comfort needs without precise instructions.
What’s more considerate is that Midea has also solved the installation problem of smart renovation of the whole house.
With more than 6,000 smart service outlets and 190,000 certified engineers across the country, we have launched a 24-hour flash installation service. Old houses do not need to smash the walls for wiring, and can complete smart upgrades by plugging in. Both new and old houses can easily adapt to whole-house intelligence.
With the rapid expansion of the smart home industry, it is no longer an era of pure competition in hardware functions. The ability to understand the real needs of users and simplify the operation threshold is the core of the long-term development of the industry.
Midea uses system reconstruction to break the pseudo-intelligence deadlock and integrate technology into daily fireworks. It also points out the direction for the industry to upgrade from controlling equipment to serving people.
Whether whole-house intelligence can truly enter ordinary families in the future may depend on whether it can get rid of complicated routines and return to the essence of convenient and comfortable homes.
