On April 18, the Hainan Cross-border E-commerce Development Conference and Free Trade Port Policy Interpretation Series were officially launched in Sanya.
The event was directed by the Sanya Municipal Government and hosted by the China Association for Trade in Services. With the theme of “Building a New Platform for the Free Trade Port and Building a New Highland for Brand Exporting to the Sea”, the event attracted elites from all walks of life in politics, business, academia, and research to jointly seize the major opportunities of island-wide customs closure operations and build an important platform for high-end exchanges and cooperation, aiming to help Hainan build a new highland for global cross-border e-commerce development.
On the morning of that day, the Hainan Cross-border E-commerce Development Conference, which was the core part of the series of activities, was grandly held at the Crowne Plaza Sanya Center Hotel.
The conference was chaired by Zhong Zeyu, secretary and secretary-general of the China Association for Trade in Services. Liu Pingzhi, a member of the Party Leadership Group of the Hainan Provincial Government, and Zhang Wei, president of the China Association for Trade in Services, successively delivered speeches.
Liu Pingzhi, a member of the Hainan Provincial Government Party Committee, emphasized in his speech that Hainan, as the only provincial comprehensive cross-border e-commerce pilot zone in the country, has the unique policy advantages of “zero tariffs, low tax rates, and a simplified tax system.”
These policy advantages continue to promote the liberalization and facilitation of trade, providing excellent development fertile ground for enterprises to deploy cross-border e-commerce and explore overseas markets.

Zhang Wei, President of the China Association for Trade in Services, also pointed out in his speech that at present, we must closely grasp the window period for customs closure operations and make full use of the preferential value-added tax policies.
At the same time, we will focus on core tracks such as digitalization and new energy to deepen collaboration among industries.
All parties should work together to build a new pattern of high-level openness in the free trade port and create a more favorable environment for the development of cross-border e-commerce.
During the conference, the Sanya Investment Promotion Bureau conducted an investment promotion, comprehensively demonstrating Sanya’s investment environment and development potential.
Relying on the opportunity of the Hainan Free Trade Port’s customs clearance operation, Sanya has combined the policy advantages of “zero tariffs, low tax rates, and simplified tax systems” to continuously optimize the business environment and improve service efficiency.
Sanya is extending an olive branch to global cross-border e-commerce and upstream and downstream enterprises, and sincerely invites enterprises from all parties to take root in Sanya, delve into the free trade port, and jointly share the huge opportunities brought by the development of Hainan.
