On April 15, trucks loaded with wardrobes, cabinets and other whole-house customized furniture drove out of the Central China Intelligent Manufacturing Base of Oppein Home Furnishings in the Sino-German International Industrial Park and were sent to Anhui, Shanxi and other provinces.
In the first quarter, 39,000 orders for the base’s self-contained home furnishing products were issued, accounting for 64% of the total business volume. The advantages of intelligent customization and supply chain are rapidly being converted into market share.

In the Caidian Economic Development Zone, with Oppein Home Furnishing and Gree HVAC as leaders, more than 40 upstream and downstream enterprises in the industry chain have gathered. A tens of billions smart home industry cluster covering the entire chain of R&D, manufacturing and services has formed a complete ecosystem.
Not long ago, this cluster was successfully selected into the 2026 list of Hubei Province’s featured industrial clusters for small and medium-sized enterprises.
Digital production runs through the entire process.
When you walk into Oppein Furniture’s Huazhong Intelligent Manufacturing Base, you won’t see any wood chips or smell paint.
In the second phase of the base, five cutting robots uniformly dispatched by the “intelligent brain” operate accurately.
After each board is cut by laser, it will be affixed with a fully traceable QR code to realize automated flow from edge sealing, punching to packaging.
The production cycle for a whole-house customized home has been compressed to 10 hours.

“If the error is greater than 0.3 mm, the system will automatically alarm.” In front of the “AI visual inspection system”, Xie Mingliang, director of the base engineering technology group, introduced.
After the plate passes through the conveyor belt, the size scan can be completed within 3 seconds, without any intervention during the entire process.
In 2025, the manufacturing base will invest 20 million yuan to introduce this system, which will increase the defect identification accuracy to 99.8%, reduce quality inspection costs by 40%, and reduce the rework rate from 1% to less than 0.2%.
“Digitalization is a must-answer for survival and development.” Gao Sha, head of Oppein Home Central China Intelligent Manufacturing Base, said that its global mass customization production line has achieved a daily production capacity of 3,000 units.
This year, the company plans to invest another 110 million yuan to promote digital intelligence upgrading, build a “direct warehouse” intelligent delivery system, create a 700-square-meter large home digital intelligence panoramic exhibition hall and a central live broadcast empowerment center, and build a new model of “online traffic drainage, offline experience, digital intelligence transformation, and all-area services”.
In Gree Heating, Ventilation and Refrigeration Equipment (Wuhan) Co., Ltd., its “AI Calm King” and other smart products use a new generation of AI dynamic energy-saving algorithms that can independently learn user habits and environment, achieving annual power savings of 13.6%.
“Such new products account for more than 89% of the total products. In the first quarter of this year, the company’s output and output value increased by more than 50% year-on-year, sales increased by more than 100%, and the production capacity utilization rate reached 100%.” said the relevant person in charge of the company.
The relevant person in charge of the Caidian Economic Development Zone Management Committee said that the deep integration of cutting-edge technologies such as digital twins and intelligent detection with production scenarios is injecting continuous digital vitality into the entire smart home cluster to improve efficiency and enrich product forms.
A closed loop is realized from plate supply to scrap recycling.
Less than 2 kilometers away from Oppein Furniture’s smart manufacturing base in central China, its panel supplier, Wuhan Dobilong New Material Technology Co., Ltd., has settled nearby, stably supplying 100,000 panels every month, realizing supply chain coordination of “online immediately after leaving the warehouse.”
This is the epitome of “leading leadership and chain symbiosis” of industrial clusters.
In the Caidian Smart Home Industry Cluster with a planned area of about 86 square kilometers, with 10 industry leaders such as Oppein, Gree, and Wanjulong as the core, more than 40 supporting enterprises have gathered, forming a complete industrial chain from R&D and design, intelligent manufacturing to sales services.
The improvement of industrial ecology has generated strong attraction.
Global woodworking tool giants Germany’s Leke Group and Lanzhi Group have successively set up central China regional service centers in Caidian to provide high-end tool equipment support for enterprises in the cluster.
“On-chain supporting facilities have significantly reduced comprehensive operations and logistics costs.” said Yuan Xiangdong, head of Central China of Leke Group.
The circular economy model is also taking shape within the cluster.
Wuhan Hongxiang Thermal Energy Technology Co., Ltd. directly settled in the Oppein Park and recycled and processed its production surplus materials for thermal energy supply. It generated an average annual income of more than one million yuan for Oppein, realizing closed-loop utilization of resources.
The person in charge of Gree Heating, Ventilation and Refrigeration Equipment (Wuhan) Co., Ltd. said that Gree has driven the coordinated development of 15 supporting companies and will continue to strengthen the chain master function in 2026 to jointly strengthen the regional supply chain system.
The relevant person in charge of the Caidian Economic Development Zone Management Committee said that the current cluster has formed a complete ecology of “chain master enterprises + supporting enterprises + R&D platforms + application scenarios”. In 2025, the output value of the Caidian District smart home industry cluster will reach 31.424 billion yuan, accounting for 34.23% of the district’s industrial output value.
According to the development trend, the industry scale is expected to exceed 35 billion yuan in 2026.
