Brazilian tire factory project advances to help industrial upgrading

Recently, the tire factory project of Brazilian local tire company XBRI Pneus located in Punta Grossa, Paraná, is progressing in an orderly manner, and the overall construction progress is stable.
This modern tire production base is not only an important location for XBRI to deeply explore the Latin American market, but also fill the high-end tire manufacturing capacity gap in Latin America and help the Brazilian and Latin American tire industries achieve technology and production capacity upgrades.

Already in 2024, XBRI has completed about 400 hectares
The acquisition and reserve of project construction land will make preliminary preparations for factory construction in advance.
Different from the common joint venture factory construction model in the industry, this project was independently invested and independently promoted construction for this project, without choosing an external joint venture and cooperation path.

The factory is positioned with high-end intelligent production capacity. Once completed, it will join the ranks of Latin America’s advanced tire production platforms, effectively filling the regional high-end tire supply gap.
According to the plan, after the project is put into operation, it can create thousands of direct and indirect jobs, drive Paraná’s industrial upgrading and technological iteration, improve the local tire upstream and downstream supporting industry chain, and steadily enhance the overall competitiveness of Brazil’s local tire industry.

Whether they are ordinary car owners or tire industry practitioners, many people in China have never heard of the brand XBRI Pneus.
It has taken root in the Brazilian local market all year round and has a good reputation in local channels and terminal markets.
In the past, the company mainly focused on brand operation, marketing and channel distribution. It did not have its own production factory, and its products have always relied on OEM supply by large tire companies in China and Southeast Asia.
Affected by the continued rise in cross-border logistics and tariff costs, coupled with the steady increase in local market demand in Latin America, and relying on its mature channel network and solid market foundation, XBRI formally launched a self-built factory plan to promote localized production to replace the remote OEM model.

South America has a large car ownership base and stable consumer demand, which is very attractive to tire companies. Many companies have chosen to build factories or launch new project layouts here.
Sailun’s production base in Mexico has been officially put into production, relying on the advantages of local free trade agreements to avoid trade barriers, and its products cover both North and South American markets; Brazilian ETOR Tire has also launched the construction of a two-wheel tire factory in the Manaus Free Trade Zone, which will drive the development of the local rubber industry after completion; in addition, international tire giants such as Bridgestone have already deployed mature production bases in Brazil, have been deeply involved in the regional market for many years, and continue to optimize production capacity and channel layout.

From these cases of building factories in South America, it can be clearly seen that the overseas layout logic of the tire industry has changed.
In the past few years, tire companies have gathered together to go overseas and expand production through joint ventures, mainly to avoid trade barriers and seize incremental markets.
However, as global demand fluctuates, production costs rise, and geographical uncertainty increases, the dividends of extensive overseas factory building gradually fade.
The industry is beginning to shift toward a refined, low-risk global layout. Companies are more inclined to focus on core overseas bases and strictly control investment scale and operating risks.
XBRI’s development path of independent investment and independent construction of high-end production capacity also provides a pragmatic reference direction for local Latin American tire companies to break through and the industry’s rational overseas layout.
