On June 9, the 11th “Silk Road E-commerce” Lecture Hall and Latin American Style Product Selection Conference of the Zhengzhou Airport Economic Comprehensive Experimental Zone (hereinafter referred to as the Zhengzhou Airport Zone) was grandly held in the Zhengzhou Taiwan Science and Technology Park in the area.
With the theme of “Fragrant Outdoor Dates·Cross-Borders”, the event focused on Latin America, an emerging cross-border e-commerce market, and successfully attracted more than 200 people including representatives from mainstream e-commerce platforms such as Amazon, Alibaba International Station, and Meikeduo, as well as representatives from enterprises in Henan’s characteristic industrial belt.

The event was very lively. Representatives from Zhumadian Fragrance Industry, Zhumadian Intangible Cultural Heritage Protection Association, and Nanle County Knitted Hats and Clothing Industry Belt factory representatives showed up at the product selection meeting with their respective advantageous products.
They conducted in-depth face-to-face negotiations and docking with cross-border e-commerce sellers and platforms.
Liang Xu, general manager of Zhumadian Qile Biotechnology Co., Ltd., said with confidence: “The fragrance products we produce have great potential in foreign markets, especially in Latin America. We hope to find more accurate sales channels through cross-border e-commerce.” Representatives from Nanle County’s woven hat industry belt are paying close attention to Latin American consumers’ demand preferences for outdoor hats and hope to use platform data to reversely customize products to better meet market demand.

After in-depth analysis, many participating platform representatives believed that the penetration rate of e-commerce in Latin America is continuing to increase, and there is a huge young consumer group. They have strong demand for categories such as outdoor products, fashion accessories, and home fragrances made in China.
This makes Latin America gradually become a new blue ocean for cross-border e-commerce companies to compete for deployment.
As the forefront of the opening up of inland areas, Zhengzhou Airport Area has shown strong development momentum in new cross-border e-commerce formats by virtue of the superimposed advantages of aviation, ports and comprehensive bonded areas.
Hou Jinliang, head of e-commerce at the Zhengzhou Airport Area Commerce and Port Administration Bureau, revealed that in the first five months of this year, the region’s cross-border e-commerce import and export orders totaled 148 million, a year-on-year increase of 45.79%.
This data fully demonstrates the vigorous development of local cross-border e-commerce.
Up to now, Zhengzhou Airport Area has gathered nearly 900 cross-border e-commerce related companies, successfully building a complete industrial chain.
Platforms such as Tmall Global and Douyin have achieved normal operations, and local companies such as Yitong Cross-border and Quansu Tong have grown into industry benchmarks.
Wang Jihong, president of the Zhengzhou Airport Area Cross-Border E-commerce Association, said that the association has established strategic cooperative relationships with Amazon, Alibaba International Station and other platforms, and has carried out more than 20 training sessions and trained more than 2,600 professional talents.
Henan has rich resources in its characteristic industrial belt, and cross-border e-commerce provides these traditional manufacturing companies with a new direct channel to overseas consumers.
In the future, the association will continue to deepen resource docking, guide more local specialty products to go abroad, and let Chinese products shine on the world stage.
