With financial assistance, cross-border e-commerce has entered the stage of intensive development.

In the first quarter of this year, the Export-Import Bank of China stepped up lending to the foreign trade sector, supporting the growth of new foreign trade formats such as cross-border e-commerce. China's cross-border e-commerce sector is transitioning from rapid scale expansion to high-quality development, playing a significant role in global trade.

In today’s globalized economic landscape, China’s cross-border e-commerce is ushering in a new stage of development.
CCTV News recently reported that the Export-Import Bank of China issued more than 300 billion yuan in new foreign trade loans in the first quarter of this year, of which 40% was invested in stabilizing foreign trade entities and the foreign trade industry chain, and 35% was invested in direct import and export trade links.
Focus on supporting the export of products such as artificial intelligence and green electricity equipment, and assisting the professional and large-scale development of new foreign trade formats and models such as cross-border e-commerce and overseas warehouses.

As a new trade model in the digital economy era, cross-border e-commerce uses the Internet platform to realize the purchase and sale of goods, payment and settlement of cross-border transactions, completes the delivery of goods through cross-border logistics, and sells domestic goods overseas to achieve added value.
As a new form of foreign trade that has developed rapidly in recent years, cross-border e-commerce relies on the convenience of the Internet and the efficiency of global logistics to break geographical restrictions and continue to unleash China’s trade advantages and growth potential of “buying globally and selling globally”.
At present, China’s cross-border e-commerce is still mainly export-oriented.

Data display, 2019 –
The scale of import and export will increase year by year in 2025, reaching 2.75 trillion yuan in 2025. It will not only create new business opportunities and jobs for countries around the world, boost international trade cooperation, but also become the core driving force for Chinese enterprises to go overseas.
In particular, China has remained ASEAN’s largest trading partner for 17 consecutive years, and ASEAN has remained China’s largest trading partner for six consecutive years. The export structure has continued to be optimized in a diversified layout, and structural transformation and upgrading has achieved remarkable results.

Currently, China’s cross-border e-commerce is moving from the scale expansion stage of “barbaric growth” to the high-quality development stage of “intensive farming”.
Faced with the dual challenges of global tariff pressure and a weak consumer market, industry reshuffles are accelerating. Only core companies with “deep supply chain integration capabilities, accurate data insights, and brand premium capabilities” can break through the competition, promote China’s cross-border e-commerce to make a comprehensive transition from “Made in China export” to “Chinese value export”, and continue to lead the development of new global foreign trade formats.
