Recently, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology released the “5G Factory Typical Application Practices in 2025”, selecting 100 technologically advanced and benchmark-leading typical application practice projects from 1,260 5G factory directory projects across the country, covering important industry fields such as raw material industry, equipment industry, consumer goods industry, electronic information, energy and transportation.
This issue focuses on the machinery industry in the equipment industry, allowing you to unlock the implementation experience of the “Tietuo Machinery 5G Intelligent Manufacturing Industrial Park” project and see how “5G + Industrial Internet” solves production pain points and brings triple improvements in efficiency, cost, and quality.

Tietuo Machinery is a professional manufacturer of asphalt mixing equipment. The intelligent manufacturing park built by the company in 2019 has promoted the digital upgrade of the entire process of production, supply and marketing through the Internet of Things and intelligent manufacturing technology.
The Tietuo Machinery 5G Intelligent Manufacturing Industrial Park project is based on the “end-edge-cloud” collaborative architecture. It integrates China Telecom’s 5G network and Tietuo Cloud resources by deploying a 5G virtual private network (SA IoT mode) to build a digital closed-loop system covering R&D, production, and management. It deploys 5G industrial gateways to realize networking of welding machines, cutting machines and other equipment, deploys edge NAS nodes to realize drawing permission management and remote delivery, and builds eight major 5G application scenarios such as welding cloud platform and equipment utilization management.
As an engineering machinery manufacturing enterprise, Tietuo Machinery faces core problems such as low level of equipment digitalization, insufficient network performance, and extensive production coordination.
In response to the above problems, it is necessary to build a 5G virtual private network (SA IoT mode), integrate industrial Ethernet, and support scenarios such as remote control of welding machines and real-time distribution of 4K drawings; it is necessary to deploy edge NAS nodes to solve the problems of drawing permission management and mobile access; it is necessary to connect ERP, PLM, welding cloud platform and other systems to build a “end-edge-cloud” collaborative architecture to realize R&D-production-
The entire management chain needs to be connected; it needs to be based on 5G innovative applications to achieve remote control, precise operations, predictive maintenance, intelligent tally, etc.
The construction of this project adopts a three-level architecture of “cloud-edge-end”.
The terminal layer implements equipment 5G module transformation and intelligent terminal deployment; the edge layer deploys industrial gateways and edge servers to complete real-time data processing and control command issuance; the cloud layer builds an industrial Internet platform to integrate production scheduling, equipment management, and data analysis functions to form a data-driven intelligent management closed loop.
In terms of 5G network, one outdoor macro station and three small base stations are deployed to cover the factory area and workshop; it supports 5G virtual private network (SA IoT mode) to meet high bandwidth and low latency requirements, and realizes remote control of equipment and 4K drawing distribution; in terms of edge computing, configuration
Edge computing nodes and redundant storage devices ensure local processing and safe backup of data; in terms of the industrial Internet platform, systems such as ERP and PLM are integrated to open up data links between the R&D and production ends; a device networking management platform is deployed, and sensors are installed to monitor the operating status of old equipment.
Network upgrade: Replace the original Wi-Fi in the workshop, and realize flexible access to electronic signage, PDA and other terminals through 5G industrial routers; ensure that the efficiency of drawing distribution is increased by 50%, and the process parameter synchronization delay is <50ms.
Core application scenarios include remote control, intelligent welding, predictive maintenance, intelligent tallying, etc.
For example, remote control makes welding workstations unmanned, reducing staffing in high-risk areas by 90%; smart welding allows robots to dynamically adjust parameters, and the welding qualification rate increases to 99.2%; predictive maintenance uses AI models to predict equipment failures, reducing unplanned downtime by 60%; smart tally uses 5GPDA to realize dynamic scheduling of warehousing, shortening the inventory cycle by 60%.

The project also includes application scenarios such as collaborative R&D and design, remote equipment control, equipment fault diagnosis, precise dynamic operations, equipment predictive maintenance, factory intelligent tally, production process traceability, production energy efficiency management and control, etc.
Each scenario takes full advantage of the 5G network to optimize the production process and improve efficiency.
In terms of construction value, the economic value is significant. The annual loss of consumables such as drawing printing is reduced by more than 1.2 million yuan, equipment maintenance costs are reduced by 25%, and energy consumption per unit output value is reduced by 22%.
Design efficiency increased by 40%, the one-time welding pass rate reached 99.2%, the inventory count cycle was reduced by 60%, and the equipment utilization rate increased from 72% to 96%.
Businesses such as 5G customized networks operate stably to ensure efficient production and enhance market competitiveness.
The social value cannot be ignored, and eight major scenarios of “5G + Industrial Internet” are created to provide examples for 5G transformation in the machinery manufacturing industry.
Reduce staffing in high-risk areas by 90% to ensure worker safety and promote the popularization of safe production models.
Promote the digitalization of traditional manufacturing industries, drive the coordinated development of the industrial chain, and help local industries upgrade.
