On June 8, 2026, the German WIKA Group (WIKA), a well-known company in the world of pressure, temperature, level, flow and force measurement, announced that the second phase of WIKA’s Suzhou factory was officially put into operation.
As one of the group’s core production bases in China, the opening of the new base not only marks a milestone in the development of WIKA China, but also injects new momentum into the localization of the high-end instrument industry.
Wu Qi, deputy secretary and director of the Party Working Committee of Suzhou High-tech Zone, district leaders Li Zhijun, Yang Liang and leaders of relevant government departments, WIKA Group Global CEO Alexander Wiegand, Asia Pacific President Steven Ong, China Managing Director Liu Huangming, customer guests and employee representatives attended the opening ceremony.

20,000㎡ Intelligent Manufacturing Benchmark
Demonstrating the hard-core manufacturing strength of German enterprises
Wika Suzhou Phase II factory has achieved a double leap in scale and industrial level.
The base covers an area of over 20,000 square meters, deeply integrates German industrial standards, and has established a core operation system for digital production management and intelligent manufacturing.
It produces products such as ultra-high purity pressure gauges, SF₆ gas density meters, smart pressure transmitters, industrial pressure gauges and thermometers, serving the fields of semiconductors, high-voltage power transmission and distribution, petrochemicals, food pharmaceuticals and mechanical equipment, and empowering the development of related industries in China.
At the same time, the Suzhou Phase II factory extensively applies energy-saving and environmentally friendly designs such as rooftop photovoltaic systems, intelligent lighting systems, and intelligent building management systems to achieve efficient energy recycling and promote low-carbon green operations.
The factory has passed the LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) green building gold certification, which is one of the authoritative green building certification systems with the widest range of applications and the greatest industry influence in the world.

Government and enterprises work together to strengthen confidence in long-term development in China
Alexander, CEO of WIKA Group
In his speech, Wiegand emphasized that the opening of the second phase of the Suzhou factory is an important milestone in WIKA’s nearly 30 years of development in China.
After the completion of the project, WIKA’s local production capacity will be doubled.
WIKA’s continued investment in China is not only an intuitive reflection of the rapid growth of WIKA’s deep penetration into the Chinese market in recent years, but also carries its firm confidence in the continued good development of the market.
He pointed out that “sensors are the core basic components of industrial digitalization” and are the prerequisite for the realization of automation and artificial intelligence.
Relying on the new factory, WIKA will accelerate the construction of local R&D capabilities, build an important global R&D center, integrate Chinese efficiency and German precision quality, and continue to promote industrial measurement technology innovation.
Steven Ong, Executive President of WIKA Group Asia Pacific, said that the manufacturing capabilities of WIKA Suzhou Phase I and II not only serve the Chinese market, but also continue to strengthen support for customers in the Asia-Pacific region.
Relying on the advantages of the Chinese team, the Asia-Pacific subsidiaries can respond to customer needs more efficiently within the same time zone.
The opening of Suzhou Phase II will further improve the response speed, flexibility and reliability of the overall operation, allowing WIKA’s products and innovations to better support business growth in the Asia-Pacific market.
Liu Huangming, Managing Director of WIKA China, pointed out that since settling in Suzhou High-tech Zone in 1997, WIKA has received continuous support and efficient services from governments at all levels, especially the High-tech Zone.
The opening of Suzhou Phase II not only means an increase in production capacity, but also marks a comprehensive upgrade of localized manufacturing and technical capabilities.
In the future, WIKA will stay close to customer needs with “faster response and higher quality standards”, accelerate its layout in emerging fields such as semiconductors, new energy, and data centers, continue to improve its technical strength, and achieve long-term stable and win-win development with customers and partners.
Stefan Jachmann, head of the Suzhou Phase II project of WIKA Group, mentioned that Suzhou Phase II is committed to building a future-oriented manufacturing base that meets modern environmental protection standards. Through systematic energy-saving design and green technology application, the introduction of energy-saving systems, optimized water resource utilization, and improved waste management and emission reduction measures have achieved synergistic improvements in production efficiency and ecological environmental protection, and contributed to building a healthier ecological environment and a more resilient social development system.
Yang Liang, a member of the Party Working Committee of Suzhou High-tech Zone, said that since WIKA settled in the High-tech Zone in 1997, it has always resonated with the construction and development of the High-tech Zone, and has successively established manufacturing bases, Asia-Pacific R&D centers, Suzhou Phase II factories and other important projects.
A large project; the opening of Wika Suzhou Phase II project is not only a strong testimony of the deep development of the high-tech zone, but also an important promotion of the economic development of the high-tech zone. We will continue to deepen the “three services” action, strive to create a world-class business environment, and help enterprises develop better.
Optimistic about the opportunities in the Chinese market and continue to increase investment in China
Currently, China’s economy is moving towards high-quality development, and the upgrading of traditional industries and the development of emerging industries have brought many opportunities to the instrument industry.
The intelligent transformation of traditional processes, the development of new energy and semiconductors, and the construction of data centers have created a demand for high-precision, intelligent measuring instruments, providing WIKA with good market space and fertile development ground.
As an important enterprise in the global industrial measurement field, WIKA Group seizes the opportunities in the Chinese market.
From settling in Suzhou in 1997, to the opening of the new base in Shanghai in 2025, to the second phase of production in Suzhou, WIKA’s investment and production capacity in China have continued to expand, fully demonstrating the group’s long-term confidence in the Chinese market and its firm determination to deeply integrate into China’s intelligent manufacturing process.
Multi-base collaborative layout to promote high-quality development
The second phase of WIKA China Suzhou was officially opened, further improving WIKA’s “multi-base” collaborative manufacturing system in China and establishing a full localized layout integrating R&D, production and services.
Based on a new starting point, WIKA will help customers transform to digital, intelligent and green through innovative products and services. With high-quality products and services, we will penetrate into China, radiate the Asia-Pacific and serve the world, and continue to write a new chapter of two-way empowerment, symbiosis and win-win between multinational enterprises and the local market.
