The scale of cross-border e-commerce in Guangdong has expanded 55 times in ten years, and the Canton Fair helps industry development

In the field of cross-border e-commerce, Guangdong Province has made remarkable achievements.
The deputy director of the Guangdong Provincial Department of Commerce revealed at the 2026 China (Guangdong)-RCEP Member States Cross-border E-commerce Exchange Event and China (Guangzhou) Cross-border E-commerce Trade Fair that the scale of cross-border e-commerce import and export in Guangdong Province has jumped from 11.3 billion yuan in 2015 to 623 billion yuan in 2025, expanding 55 times in 10 years, with an average annual growth of 49.3%, accounting for more than 1/3 of the country, and ranking first in the country in scale.

On June 17, the opening day of the 2026 China (Guangdong)-RCEP member states cross-border e-commerce exchange event and the China (Guangzhou) Cross-border E-commerce Fair was crowded with people.
With the theme of “New Momentum for Foreign Trade·New Digital Future”, the exhibition lasted for three days and gathered in Pazhou together with more than 50 cross-border e-commerce platform companies, nearly 40 industrial zones across the country, more than 200 cross-border e-commerce service providers and more than 1,000 supply chain companies, presenting a full industry chain cross-border e-commerce industry event of over 50,000 square meters.
It is worth mentioning that the number of participating e-commerce platforms in this exhibition exceeded 50 for the first time, an increase of 21.4%, achieving full coverage of the global mainstream market.

Guangdong Province actively expands cross-border e-commerce cooperation with countries around the world, especially RCEP member states, and strives to achieve a “five-foreign linkage” combination of foreign trade, foreign investment, outsourcing, foreign economics, and foreign intelligence.
Currently, Guangdong is accelerating the development of the “cross-border e-commerce + industrial belt” model, continuing to work hard to improve quality, strengthen the brand, and extend the industrial chain, and strive to cultivate more trillion-yuan export industry clusters to provide a more solid industrial foundation for the development of cross-border e-commerce.
Guangdong will make greater efforts to support the development of cross-border e-commerce and bring more development opportunities to global cross-border e-commerce companies.

During the exhibition, the “Compliance Guidelines for Major Markets of Cross-Border E-Commerce (Overseas)” were also released, providing important reference for cross-border e-commerce companies.
A number of exhibiting companies and organizations brought practical case sharing such as “Using artificial intelligence to help e-commerce improve efficiency”, “Digital transformation of Chinese brands going overseas”, “Using the power of content to connect global goods – new practices of content ecology to help cross-border import consumption upgrade”. These cases provided new ideas and directions for the development of the cross-border e-commerce industry.

With the continuous development of cross-border e-commerce, Guangdong Province has become increasingly important in the global cross-border e-commerce market.
This exhibition not only demonstrated the strong strength of Guangdong’s cross-border e-commerce, but also established a platform for domestic and foreign enterprises to communicate and cooperate, promoting the healthy development of the cross-border e-commerce industry.
In the future, Guangdong will continue to leverage its advantages to promote the cross-border e-commerce industry to new heights and make greater contributions to the development of global trade.
