June in previous years was the traditional off-season for the construction machinery industry, but in 2026 the industry has gone out of the “off-season but not off-season” beyond expectations. The production and sales of the entire industry continue to be hot, becoming one of the representative tracks for Chinese manufacturing to go overseas.

From the production side, the production lines of many leading construction machinery companies have been operating at full capacity for many months. Front-line workers have implemented two shifts to ensure order delivery. In particular, the popularity of electric construction machinery products has far exceeded expectations. Many popular models are “hard to find” and the delivery cycle of some orders has been extended by about 40% compared to previous years.
Public statistics show that from January to May 2026, my country’s new energy construction machinery sales maintained a rapid growth momentum. Electric loaders alone accounted for a total of 20,819 units sold, a year-on-year increase of 90.9%. As the green transformation of domestic infrastructure projects continues to advance, coupled with the outstanding advantage of electric construction machinery operating costs being only one-third of the fuel version, the market penetration rate of electric products is rapidly increasing, and electrification has become the core driving force for the growth of the domestic construction machinery market.

While the popularity of the domestic market remains unabated, overseas markets are also booming across the board, and the global competitiveness of China’s construction machinery is continuing to highlight.
From January to May 2026, my country’s total construction machinery import and export trade reached US$28.911 billion, a year-on-year increase of 19.5%, of which the export value reached US$27.902 billion, a year-on-year increase of 20.8%, and the export growth rate far exceeded the industry average.
Strong overseas demand has also caused significant changes in the logistics and delivery rhythm of enterprises, from the past “monthly centralized delivery” to normalized weekly or even daily delivery. In order to shorten the delivery cycle for overseas users, many companies have added localized warehousing outlets and after-sales service centers in core markets such as Southeast Asia, the Middle East, Latin America, and Europe.
Industry insiders said that as the global wave of green infrastructure continues to advance, China’s construction machinery is expected to gain a higher market share in the global market by virtue of its first-mover technology advantages, high cost-effectiveness advantages and complete supply chain supporting capabilities in the field of electrification, becoming a bright business card for China’s manufacturing overseas.
