The country’s first general-purpose household robot is launched in Wuhan, and smart homes are ushering in new changes

近日,全国首个家庭通用人形机器人在武汉开启实景体验,首批百台“拾光S1”机器人进驻社区开展测试,标志着我国智能家政迈入新阶段,智能家居行业迎来升级。

The scenes in science fiction movies where robots take care of housework are now coming true in reality!
Recently, the country’s first general-purpose household humanoid robot has officially launched a real-life experience in Wuhan. The first batch of 100 “light-picking S1” robots have been stationed in communities to carry out normalized and large-scale home scene testing. This marks that my country’s smart housekeeping has officially entered a new stage of universal implementation of humanoid robots, and the smart home industry has ushered in a disruptive upgrade.

This blockbuster robot was officially released in Wuhan Optics Valley on May 20 this year. It was jointly built by local technology companies, the Humanoid Robot Industry Alliance and the Innovation Center. It is the first universal humanoid robot in China that is truly suitable for home use in all scenarios. It completely breaks the industry shortcomings of traditional sweeping robots with single functions and limited scenarios, turning smart devices from “auxiliary tools” into “all-round home assistants”.

At present, one hundred test robots have been fully settled in Wuhan Optics Valley Talent Apartment, starting all-weather home testing.
Unlike smart home appliances that can only complete a single cleaning task, Pickup S1 has strong independent learning and scene adaptation capabilities.
In the field experience, the staff gave simple voice instructions, and the robot could autonomously complete a full set of housework processes such as heating meals, clearing the table, washing tableware, stacking clothes, and organizing the home. The entire set of home operations was smooth and coherent. No manual assistance was required from order taking to completion, and the entire meal arrangement work could be completed in as little as 8 minutes.

This home robot has also achieved a significant breakthrough in terms of battery life. It can continue to work for 7 hours after charging for 2 hours, which is enough to cover the full-day housework needs of ordinary families.
Relying on the self-developed Jushen intelligent large model, it gets rid of the shackles of fixed programs, can independently understand daily voice commands, flexibly respond to chaotic home scenes, accurately plan action routes, and adapts to various complex operations at home. Its practicality is far beyond traditional smart home products.

This time Wuhan took the lead in carrying out large-scale community testing, which has important industry benchmark significance.
In the past, humanoid robots mostly stayed in the exhibition demonstration and laboratory testing stages, making it difficult to adapt to the complex environment of real homes.
This time, hundreds of robots have been put into the home for actual testing, which can collect massive amounts of real home scene data, continuously optimize the robot’s operating accuracy, interaction logic and adaptation capabilities, and accumulate mature implementation experience for subsequent nationwide popularization.

It is understood that Wuhan will also open 100 free family trial quotas in the third quarter of this year, giving priority to families with elderly people, children, and pets who need it. Subsequently, it will continue to iterate and upgrade functions based on community test data to optimize the home service experience.

From smart home appliances to humanoid housekeeping robots, this implementation test in Wuhan is not only a major breakthrough in the local artificial intelligence industry, but also kicks off the era of smart homes for all.
It is believed that in the near future, all-round home robots will enter thousands of households, liberating people’s hands and completely changing the public’s home lifestyle.
