Have you ever felt that the money for decoration now is really like water that has opened a floodgate, rushing up all at once?

These days, whether it is waterproof materials, coatings or furniture, the pace of price increases has become quiet but extremely fierce, like a silent price increase that is spreading.
In fact, the reason behind it is also very simple. It is that the price of raw materials, especially petrochemicals, has soared like a rocket. Since last year, oil prices have continued to rise, causing the cost of raw materials such as asphalt, acrylic emulsion, and epoxy resin to soar by 20% to 50%.
First-tier companies such as Oriental Yuhong, Keshun Co., Ltd., 3TREES, etc. have had to adjust their prices many times, with the largest increase reaching 25%.
Everyone knows that the money for home decoration is made up of materials, labor, design, etc. But now that the price of raw materials has risen, cost pressure has come like thunder, and companies have to increase prices to ensure profits.
From an industry perspective, not only waterproofing, but also coatings, cement, and furniture are all rising.
For example, paint giant Sankeshu has continuously adjusted prices from March to May, and even warned that it may rise by another 3%-25% at any time; cement prices have also increased by 60 yuan/ton in some areas, mainly due to high environmental protection costs and shortage of raw materials.
In terms of furniture, the Shunde Furniture Association reminds companies to reasonably channel pressure, but the dilemma of “no one will buy if the price rises, and it is difficult to guarantee profits if the price rises too fast” is real in the market.

Interestingly, although price increases are difficult, the performance of the industry is also gradually improving.
Oriental Yuhong’s performance in the first quarter of 2026 was outstanding, with revenue increasing by 20% year-on-year, profits almost doubling, and gross profit margin increasing to 27%.
This shows that companies have alleviated some pressure by frequently raising prices and optimizing structures.
And some waterproofing companies have kept up and responded to price adjustments, and the trend of rising costs has basically become the “normal” in the market.
In addition, in addition to raw material prices, the international situation is also adding fuel to the flames.
Geographical conflicts in Europe, the United States, and Russia, coupled with the continued increase in logistics costs, have made the supply of these raw materials tighter, making price increases a last resort.
Especially in China, refineries are under-operated, supply is tight, and demand is optimistic about infrastructure and real estate. The momentum of price increases will continue in the short term.
The entire industry is undergoing a change, from cement to furniture, everyone is trying to use price increases to balance costs.
But in fact, this is a very real problem for consumers.
Renovation budgets are becoming increasingly tight, and some families may even consider lowering the quality or materials.
This price increase may distress many people, but it also makes the industry more aware that only improving product quality is the real way out.
In other words, you must be prepared for future home decoration, as material prices will continue to rise.
With this round of “cost reconstruction”, decoration is no longer as “cost-effective” as before, but if you can control your choices, cooperation and budget, you may be able to find a way to deal with this change that suits you.
