Summary of hot topics in many fields: Frequent chaos in the expansion of the tire industry, oil prices falling, and anti-superstition education is another wake-up call.

In recent years, the wave of capacity expansion in the tire industry has attracted capital from all walks of life to rush in, but there are many speculators who are “big thunder but small rain”. The industry expansion has entered a period of rational ebb.

The “empty shell” trap under the capital feast

Many companies have launched “signing marathons” across the country, frequently signing tens of billions of tire production projects, but have not made any substantial progress in putting them into production.
After a company with a petroleum background laid out its tire business in 2021, it has successively signed tire production capacity projects with a total investment of nearly 20 billion yuan in Jilin, Liaoning, Hunan and other places. The highest-standard opening ceremony was attended by major local leaders. However, as of mid-2026, there has been no construction progress on any project, and no production capacity has been implemented.

Although some projects have taken substantial steps, they have failed before approval or funding thresholds: a 5 billion yuan smart manufacturing factory project of a tire company in Hainan was returned due to flaws such as incomplete description of the construction overview and insufficient demonstration of exhaust gas treatment measures in the environmental impact assessment report, and the project was forced to stagnate; nearly 90 million yuan of equity in the name of the actual controller of a tire project in Anhui was frozen by the judiciary when the actual controller was about to start construction, and the project came to an abrupt end after the capital chain risk broke out.
Some companies have even aggressively signed production capacity projects with a total investment of over 10 billion yuan in seven provinces. All projects have either made no progress for many years, or have been reduced to half-finished projects. The investment behavior has been questioned as “painting the cake without landing it”, aiming to obtain local resources based on concepts rather than truly developing manufacturing industries.

While the domestic market is experiencing frequent chaos, the overseas expansion of Chinese tire companies is also facing severe tests: a tire company’s 2 billion yuan factory project in Sri Lanka was abandoned due to the local political and economic crisis, and the initial investment was in vain; a leading company’s 3.75 billion yuan high-performance tire project in Spain was postponed due to policy obstacles such as insufficient local energy support and lengthy approval processes, and resources were instead concentrated on other overseas factories with higher certainty.
Industry insiders point out that expansion projects that lack core technologies and stable capital chains will eventually be eliminated by the market.

Good for people’s livelihood: Domestic oil prices are about to drop significantly

According to the domestic refined oil price adjustment cycle arrangement, a new round of price adjustment window in 2026 will open at 24:00 on July 3. At present, this price adjustment has entered a 10-working day calculation cycle, and the downward trend of oil prices is basically confirmed.
The current change rate of crude oil is expected to drop by more than 10%, or the oil price may be further reduced by 630 yuan/ton. In terms of this expected decline, the price of gasoline and diesel will continue to fall sharply by 0.48 yuan/liter to 0.57 yuan/liter.
Filling up a 50-liter family car fuel tank with 92-octane gasoline will cost about 24 yuan less, and the cost of daily travel will be significantly reduced.

Using superstition to conclude the sexual assault case
Another wake-up call against superstition

A recently concluded case of sexual assault in Inner Mongolia under the guise of feudal superstition has attracted widespread attention.
Zhang, an idle worker without any moral cultivation, specifically targeted women who were having troubles in life and were prone to superstition. He threatened the victim Ms. He through WeChat, lying that there was an evil spirit following her body and that her family would suffer disasters one after another. He gradually implemented mental control on Ms. He, and then used the absurd rhetoric of “yin and yang to change luck” and lived with Ms. He for a long time. Most of the living expenses were borne by Ms. He.

After Ms. He’s 15-year-old daughter had a conflict with Zhang because she was dissatisfied with how she lived at home, Zhang fabricated the theory of “lowering her head” and falsely claimed that only the blood of a girl’s virginity could resolve the disaster. Madam He, who was so frightened, actually persuaded her young daughter to cooperate with the “practice”, which resulted in the girl being violated by Zhang.
It was not until Ms. He revealed the relevant situation while chatting with her neighbor that the neighbor noticed something unusual and called the police, and Zhang was arrested.
After investigation, Zhang was found to be a repeat offender, and the circumstances were particularly egregious. He was eventually sentenced to nine years in prison for rape by the court.

The investigators reminded that when many ordinary people encounter a trough in life, they always try to reverse their fortunes by fortune telling and doing things, but instead leave opportunities for criminals with ulterior motives.
As parents, we must distinguish between superstition and reality, choose formal channels for guidance when encountering problems, and keep the bottom line of personal safety for ourselves and our families. Superstition can never resolve disasters, but can only attract real evildoers.
