Smart Home: Leading a New Trend in Home Furnishing Consumption

Driven by the development of technologies such as 5G and artificial intelligence, "whole-home intelligence" has emerged as a new consumer trend in the home sector, fueled by strong enthusiasm among young consumers. The smart home industry is evolving from "standalone smart devices" to "whole-home intelligence," and my country is now home to over 118,000 smart home-related enterprises.

In recent years, with the rapid development of cutting-edge technologies such as 5G and artificial intelligence, smart devices have gradually entered thousands of households. Against this backdrop, “whole-house intelligence” has quietly emerged, replacing the previous “single-product intelligence” and becoming a new home consumption trend favored by young people. Currently, young people have a very high enthusiasm for smart home appliances, and their consumption concepts have also undergone a significant change. Data from the “2025 Young People’s Smart Living Trend White Paper” clearly presents this phenomenon, showing that consumers under 35 years old account for nearly 60% of the smart home consumer group. This group pays more attention to the novelty and fun of products, while also valuing their cost-effectiveness and being willing to pay for a better user experience. They are no longer pursuing the functions of a single smart device, but rather the intelligent interconnection of the entire home environment. The smart home industry is undergoing a significant evolution, rapidly moving from “single-product intelligence” to “whole-house intelligence.” In this “whole-house intelligence” model, device interconnectivity becomes the core operation. Smart devices are no longer isolated entities but can interconnect and work collaboratively through a system. For example, when you enter your home, the lights automatically turn on, the air conditioner adjusts to a comfortable temperature, and music gently plays—all these scenarios can be easily achieved through a smart system. This intelligent lifestyle not only enhances convenience but also brings unprecedented comfort. Meanwhile, policies such as trade-in programs for old consumer goods are continuously stimulating the development of the smart home market. In 2025, the number of home appliances traded in exceeded 129 million. This policy has not only promoted consumers’ upgrading of smart home products but also injected strong momentum into the development of the smart home industry. In terms of the number of enterprises, the development trend of my country’s smart home industry is very good. Data from Tianyancha Professional Edition shows that as of now, there are over 118,000 smart home-related enterprises in operation or in operation in my country. In terms of regional distribution, Guangdong Province stands out in the smart home field, ranking first in the country with over 35,000 related enterprises, accounting for 30% of the national total. Following closely are Jiangsu, Shandong, Zhejiang, and Anhui provinces. These regions, with their own industrial advantages, technological advantages, and market advantages, have provided fertile ground for the development of the smart home industry. “Whole-house intelligence” has become a new trend in the home furnishing industry, satisfying young people’s pursuit of high-quality, intelligent living. With continuous technological progress and market improvement, it is believed that “whole-house intelligence” will occupy an even more important position in the future home furnishing market, bringing more surprises and convenience to people’s lives.
