Say goodbye to plaster lines! New decoration materials and designs lead new home furnishing trends

This article outlines the various issues associated with traditional plaster moldings—such as a tendency to crack and susceptibility to moisture and mold—and recommends modern alternatives like PU moldings, "double-layer" (stepped) ceiling designs, and recessed corner channels, all of which offer a more comfortable and aesthetically pleasing home environment.

“The plaster line installed ten years ago is now like a cracked centipede lying on the ceiling.” This sentence touched the hearts of many people.
It’s not that I picked the wrong one, but that plaster thread is inherently prone to cracking.
In the north, when the heating is turned on, the plaster is like a sponge that has been pumped out, shrinking faster than the face; in the south, when it comes to the south, it absorbs water vapor again, grows mold spots, and falls off at the touch of a touch.
What’s even more disturbing is that in order to save money, 80% of the gypsum lines on the market have cut off the fiberglass layer and mixed with fly ash. It is as light as foam and can be smashed down if the wind is strong.
Thousands of dollars were spent, but in the end it became a time bomb hanging overhead.

Example of traditional plaster line problems

However, alternatives have long been in place.
PU lines sound like plastic, but they are actually high-density polyurethane, which can be easily broken off.
It has the advantages of being moisture-proof, mold-free, and crack-free. It weighs only one-fifth of gypsum and can be easily carried upstairs by one person.
The most surprising thing is that it comes with white paint from the factory, so there is no need to put it on after installation. The master can save two days of labor, which is enough to make a hot pot meal for the whole family.

If you think the lines are too retro, you might as well try the “double eyelid” ceiling.
The two layers of gypsum boards are staggered by 2 centimeters, which is like applying false eyelashes to the ceiling. The floor height is directly stretched to the full height, but the floor height is only reduced by 3 centimeters. It is a savior for small apartments.
Now the upgraded version of the “double-eyelid” ceiling is directly embedded with linear lights, and the light diffuses from the cracks. The wall seems to have its own beauty filter, and there is no need for a fill light when shooting videos.

Examples of new decoration

Go one step further and don’t want anything at all.
Use the inner corner groove to cut the roof and wall, and the shadow is the dividing line.
There are no dusty grooves, no cracked seams, just a clean surface at first glance.
The first thing a friend says when he comes to your house is: “Why is your house so big?” In fact, there are only 89 square meters in the apartment, which just visually removes the “line” page from the decoration dictionary.

The withdrawal of gypsum line actually reflects the change of everyone’s concept.
Everyone finally figured out that a house is for living in, not for sweeping dust.
We should choose more practical and beautiful decoration materials and designs to make our home more comfortable and warm.
Whether it is the convenience and durability of PU lines, the fashion and sophistication of the “double-eyelid” ceiling, or the simplicity and grandeur brought by the inner corner grooves, they all provide us with more choices for home decoration.
In future decoration, we can choose the most suitable decoration method according to our own preferences and needs, and create an ideal home of our own.
