Recently, the “Qingdao Machinery Industry Stable Growth Work Plan” was jointly issued by multiple departments, aiming to continuously improve the innovation capabilities, supply quality and efficiency, application level and concentration vitality of Qingdao’s machinery industry, and create a high-end equipment R&D and manufacturing base with distinctive characteristics and outstanding core competitiveness.
The plan clearly proposes the development goals of Qingdao’s machinery industry in 2026. The year-on-year growth rate of main business income should be maintained at around 7%. At the same time, the competitive advantages in subdivided fields such as robots, industrial machines, instrumentation, agricultural machinery equipment, textile machinery, and power equipment need to be further enhanced. A number of first (sets) of technical equipment that have reached domestic leading and internationally advanced levels must also be cultivated.
Qingdao, based on the actual development of the city’s machinery industry, focuses on the four major areas of general equipment, special equipment, electrical machinery, and instrumentation, and makes targeted efforts.
Based on the characteristics and advantages of the city, it aims at emerging industrial fields and focuses on promoting the innovative development of iconic products in the fields of instrumentation, industrial machines, robots and other fields.
And based on the basis of cluster development in subdivided areas of the machinery industry, it emphasizes differentiation and intensive layout, and encourages districts and cities to promote the key development and cluster agglomeration of their respective characteristic industries according to local conditions.
Specifically, the plan puts forward 12 measures around four major aspects: strengthening supply, expanding demand, improving quality and efficiency, and increasing vitality.
In terms of strong supply, Qingdao will strengthen the status of corporate innovation entities, support equipment companies to take the lead in creating a number of high-energy innovation carriers, concentrate on core technology breakthroughs, and accelerate the iterative upgrade of equipment products in key areas.
Combined with the development trend of artificial intelligence empowering thousands of industries, we will strengthen emerging technologies to empower equipment manufacturing and create a number of iconic products.
Promote the large-scale mass production of high-precision five-axis machining centers, laser trackers, and articulated multi-axis robots to improve the capabilities of the equipment.
At the same time, efforts will be made to break through the bottleneck of autonomy in the entire chain of rubber tire equipment, promote the development of prototypes of unmanned mining machinery, and accelerate the iterative upgrade of characteristic agricultural machinery equipment.
In terms of expanding demand, it emphasizes deepening the role of the machinery industry in empowering and supporting the “10 + 1” innovative industrial system, vigorously developing new business formats and new models, accelerating the construction of major projects, and continuing to release effective demand for machinery and equipment.
For example, we should accelerate the expansion of application fields and scales of robots, facility agricultural machinery, and intelligent detection equipment, promote the integrated application of intelligent detection equipment in key areas, promote intelligent equipment in the field of smart agriculture, accelerate the construction of “offshore energy islands,” and drive innovation, upgrading, and clustered development of the entire wind power equipment chain.
In terms of improving quality and efficiency, support leading enterprises to optimize and integrate the industrial chain, innovation chain, and value chain, develop high-quality basic components, enhance the collaborative supporting capabilities of the industrial chain, and promote cluster development.
Promote the early completion, early commissioning and early effectiveness of a number of projects, accurately attract and cultivate “fill-in-the-blank” enterprises in the industrial chain, accelerate the construction of professional parks, and consolidate and enhance the level of characteristic industries.
In terms of increasing vitality, Qingdao will implement in-depth intelligent manufacturing projects, continue to promote the gradient cultivation of intelligent factories, and support enterprises to actively expand international markets and deepen open cooperation.
These measures will inject strong impetus into the stable growth and high-quality development of Qingdao’s machinery industry.
