At the beginning of 2026, an unprecedented “cost storm” is pushing the tire industry into a dilemma.
The price of natural rubber is soaring out of control, international crude oil is rising strongly under the catalysis of geopolitics, and logistics freight rates are rising sharply due to the “black swan” incident. The three core costs are “three arrows”.
Under the fierce “scissor gap” between upstream and downstream, tire companies finally could not withstand the pressure. Industry giants such as Zhongce Rubber, Linglong Tire, and Guizhou Tire have recently issued price increase notices, setting off a new wave of price adjustments.

Leading companies, a new round of price increase letters were issued.
Faced with rising cost pressure, tire companies’ tolerance has reached its limit, and leading companies in the industry have taken the lead in sounding the horn for price increases.
Zhongce Rubber issued a notice to increase the price of the company’s loader tires starting from March 16, 2026.
Zhongce Rubber bluntly stated that the scope of this adjustment is far lower than the increase in costs. According to the trend of raw materials, the possibility of further adjustments cannot be ruled out.
Linglong Tire issued two letters in a row, announcing that starting from April 1, 2026, price adjustments will be made for all brand series of TBR (all-steel radial tires) and PCR (semi-steel radial tires) in the domestic retail market, with an expected increase of between 3% and 5%.
Guizhou Tire also said that due to the sharp rise in raw materials such as natural rubber, synthetic rubber, carbon black and the situation in the Middle East, production costs have risen rigidly, and it will choose the opportunity to raise the prices of the entire series of products.
At the same time, Jinzhou Kaitao, Huaxing Wanda, Ningxia Kuncheng, Weihai Runtong and other companies have also joined the ranks of price increases. Products such as inner tubes and pads have increased by 2% to 5%. The price increase has spread from truck and bus tires to all categories such as engineering tires and inner tubes.

Cost “double kill”: rubber out of control, crude oil critical hit.
Behind this round of price increases is the fierce increase in raw material costs.
Data show that after February 2026, the price of natural rubber has been rising. In March, it directly broke through the high of 17,000 yuan per ton, and once reached the 18,000 yuan mark, a year-on-year increase of more than 10%.
The tight supply caused by the traditional stop-cut cycle has pushed the cost of tire factories to the ceiling.
At the same time, international crude oil prices have risen strongly, catalyzed by geopolitics.
Affected by the situation in the Middle East and the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, Brent crude oil exceeded $82 and continued to rise, with a weekly gain of 12%.
The skyrocketing rise in crude oil has not only pushed up energy costs, but has also directly led to rising prices of petroleum-based raw materials such as synthetic rubber, carbon black, and additives.
Tire companies are suffering from the “double squeeze” of natural rubber and petroleum-based raw materials, and cost pressure has increased significantly.
Logistics obstruction: The supply chain faces new challenges.
In addition to raw materials, the black swan event in logistics freight has further intensified the pressure on the industry.
The blockade of the Strait of Hormuz has led to adjustments to global shipping routes, extended voyages have led to tight shipping capacity, and freight rates on some routes have fluctuated sharply.
This has brought certain challenges to China’s tire industry, which is highly dependent on exports. The increase in logistics costs has also become one of the factors driving the tire price increase.
Industry transformation: Technology and brand drive are key.
Facing the dual pressures of raw material price fluctuations and rising logistics costs, the tire industry is ushering in a new period of adjustment.
Industry analysts point out that the rise in raw material costs will prompt companies to further optimize internal management and improve production efficiency.
At the same time, this will also accelerate the transformation of China’s tire industry from purely “cost-driven” to “technology and brand-driven”, promoting enterprises to respond to market changes and enhance their ability to resist risks by improving product added value and technological content.
In the future market competition, only companies that continuously innovate and enhance brand value can gain a firm foothold in this storm and achieve sustainable development.
