On June 17, 2026, the A-share market showed a different capital flow trend.
On that day, the main funds in the A-share market had a net outflow of 11.676 billion yuan throughout the day. However, the machinery and equipment industry bucked the trend and rose, receiving a net inflow of 954 million yuan in main funds. The sector rose by 1.05%.
However, the influx of nearly 1 billion funds is not evenly distributed, and there is a significant differentiation within the industry.

In terms of capital flow, although the Shanghai Stock Exchange Index only rose 0.40% that day, machinery and equipment became one of the eight industries with net capital inflows.
Among the 535 stocks in this industry, 242 received net inflows of funds, of which 20 had net inflows exceeding 100 million yuan.
Huagong Technology (000988) topped the list with a net inflow of 582 million yuan, an increase of 3.97%, and a turnover rate of 7.68%.
Blit and Shenling Environment followed closely with net inflows of 267 million yuan and 263 million yuan respectively.
There were 16 stocks with a net outflow of over 100 million yuan. Han’s Laser (002008) had a net outflow of 367 million yuan, Robot (300024) had a net outflow of 260 million yuan, and Green Harmonic (688017) had a net outflow of 240 million yuan, ranking among the top three in the outflow list.
There were 183 rising stocks and 345 falling stocks in the sector. The coexistence of high and low limits fully highlighted the high degree of selectivity of funds.
Huagong Technology’s ability to attract huge amounts of funds is directly related to its recent substantial breakthroughs and extensive hot spot layout.
In May 2026, the 12-inch high-end wafer laser processing equipment independently developed by its core subsidiary Huagong Laser was successfully introduced into the leading storage wafer mass production line in the semiconductor industry. This marked a key breakthrough for domestic high-end equipment in world-class production lines and obtained the highest level of industrialization recognition.
The company’s business covers many high-prosperity tracks. In terms of optical modules/CPO, its subsidiary Huagong Zhengyuan has an annual production capacity of more than 30 million optical modules. It is one of the world’s major manufacturers and has successfully developed a full range of products such as 800G and 400G. In the field of semiconductors and 3D printing, it is deeply involved in metal additive manufacturing equipment and is targeting the fields of 3C electronics and new energy vehicles. In terms of sensors and the Internet of Things, it ranks first in the market share of PTC heaters and NTC temperature sensors for new energy vehicles.
Financial support is also strong. Data from the Dragon Tiger List shows that this week, institutional dedicated seats bought a net 1.304 billion yuan of Huagong Technology, while Shenzhen Stock Connect net bought 369 million yuan, showing the synergy between domestic institutions and northbound funds.

Contrary to the popularity of Huagong Technology, stocks such as Robotics and Han’s Laser have experienced capital outflows, reflecting the switching of market hot spots and the pressure of short-term profit-taking.
After experiencing six consecutive positive days in the early stage, the robotics sector began to pull back around June 10.
The analysis pointed out that the sharp decline in U.S. technology stocks, the uncertainty of the Federal Reserve’s interest rate policy, and the high level of trading congestion in the AI sector have formed a periodic suppression of A-share related sectors.
Han’s Laser’s capital outflow is more individualistic. The stock hit the daily limit on the previous trading day (June 16), but the Dragon and Tiger List showed that it had been sold by three institutions for a total of 323 million yuan that day, and Shenzhen Stock Connect sold 155 million yuan.
The continued net outflows on June 17 were largely a continuation of short-term capital profit-taking.
The mechanical equipment sector has received overall attention, and there is a deeper industrial logic support behind it.
Industrial machines (machine tools), as the core equipment that is independently controllable in the manufacturing industry, continue to attract long-term capital deployment.
The industrial machine ETF Cathay Pacific (159667) saw significant intraday capital inflows on June 17, and its share increased by 23.18% since June 11, attracting more than 500 million yuan for two consecutive days. This reflects the market’s recognition of the long-term space for domestic substitution in the machine tool industry.
Secondly, the electronics industry broke out that day, and the net inflow of main funds was as high as 27.006 billion yuan.
As the high-end manufacturing link in the upstream of science and technology, subdivided fields such as semiconductor equipment and laser equipment in machinery and equipment naturally benefit from the spillover effect of the technology market.
The SEMI report shows that global semiconductor equipment shipments increased by 14% year-on-year in the first quarter of 2026, reaching US$36.55 billion, driven by continued AI-related investment.
Faced with market differentiation, institutional views point to structural opportunities.
Dongguan Securities suggested in a recent research report that in the second half of the year, it should “anchor new productivity and the AI industry cycle” and over-allocate industries such as machinery and equipment to tap opportunities for low-level profit improvement sectors.
Taken together, nearly 1 billion funds poured into the machinery and equipment sector on June 17, which is a typical layout of “eliminating the weak and retaining the strong”.
Funding preferences are highly concentrated on segment leaders like Huagong Technology, which have hard-core technological breakthroughs, high-growth tracks, and the consensus of institutional funds.
For investors, the beta opportunities of the sector may be limited, but the alpha logic surrounding domestic substitution and industrial upgrading will continue to emerge in differentiation.
