On the afternoon of December 29, 2025, New Star, a leading industrial robot company under Haier Group, officially released the industry’s first industrial-grade embodied intelligent robot SYNDA R1.
This move marks Newstar’s strategic transition from the field of industrial robots and motion control to a key promoter of the embodied intelligence industry. It is the first to kick off the large-scale implementation and industrial integration of embodied intelligence, and injects certain future momentum into the in-depth evolution of the manufacturing industry.

Currently, the humanoid robot industry generally faces three core pain points.
Most products lack special design for industrial scenarios, and lack environmental tolerance and continuous operation capabilities; system response lags and accuracy is difficult to match industrial production requirements; and the lack of unified “industrial adaptation” standards hinders large-scale implementation.
In this context, SYNDA took the lead in proposing and defining “industrial grade” as the core threshold for embodied intelligence industrialization. SYNDA R1 is the concrete implementation of this standard.
In terms of operating system, SYNDA R1 adopts a self-developed integrated multi-layer heterogeneous intelligent control system, equipped with a multi-layer heterogeneous controller integrating sensing-planning-operation control. Compared with traditional loose coupling solutions, it has faster response speed and better system stability, providing core technical support for industrial-level operations.
In terms of operation capabilities, SYNDA R1 has industrial-grade operation capabilities. It can be equipped with optional dexterous hands or grippers to support typical industrial tasks such as assembly, grabbing, and transportation. It can achieve millimeter-level precision operations and accurately match the high-precision requirements of industrial production.
SYNDA R1 also breaks the battery life limit and can realize autonomous power swapping. With dual-battery hot-swappable autonomous power swapping and automatic recharging technology, it can achieve 24/7 uninterrupted operation, perfectly adapting to the continuous rhythm of industrial production.
In terms of human-machine collaboration safety, it can adapt to complex industrial environments, with a four-chamber wheeled chassis, 3D laser radar, and omnidirectional flexible obstacle avoidance. It can achieve highly stable and safe movement and all-round protection in complex industrial scenes, ensuring the safety of human-machine collaboration.
In terms of large-scale flexible operations, the SYNDA R1 dual-arm load capacity is optional 3/5/10KG, the upper limb turning angle can reach – 180°~180°, the waist lifting range is 0~61cm, the working height range is 0~210cm, and the working diameter is 195cm, which can flexibly adapt to the needs of multi-dimensional industrial operations.

SYNDA R1 is not only a new product that opens a new era of industrial embodied intelligence, it is also equipped with New Star’s full-stack self-developed high-performance, high-torque, lightweight joint module.
Nanosecond-level bus synchronization, one-click self-tuning, and full-frequency vibration suppression help the robot to be more stable.
The highly integrated single-board drive and some highly integrated harmonic reducers are combined with ultra-thin component design to achieve an overall weight reduction of 5kg. The multi-pole and multi-slot frameless motor increases the torque density by 20%, ensuring the durability of long-term continuous operation in industrial scenarios.
The large-scale application of real-life scenarios is the ultimate touchstone for industrial robots.
Relying on the deep ecological synergy advantages of Haier’s strategic investment, SYNDA uses Haier’s 163 factories covering the entire industry chain as “natural testing grounds.” SYNDA R1 has faced real industrial challenges such as noise, vibration, and multi-task interference from the beginning of its development.
This “born in factories, used in factories” model allows its data accumulation, algorithm iteration and engineering optimization to always resonate with industrial needs, effectively ensuring that product performance is highly consistent with industrial needs.
Newstar has an intelligent manufacturing demonstration factory certified by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. With mature supply chain management, digital production technology and strict quality consistency control system, it has achieved an annual production capacity of up to 10,000 industrial robots, providing it with a solid “mass production confidence.”
Today, SYNDA R1 has taken solid steps in industrialization exploration. In real scenarios such as the Chongqing factory, it has initially implemented typical tasks such as adaptive grabbing, warehousing and logistics handling, flexible PCB board quality inspection, and dual-arm collaborative assembly.
Intelligent upgrading of the manufacturing industry is not a one-man show for a single company.
Newstar’s core ecological competitiveness stems from the two-wheel drive of its “30-year industrial gene” and “strategic ecological synergy”.
From the perspective of industrial foundation, it adheres to the in-depth development concept of “originating from industry and understanding industry better”, and has built a full industry chain layout of core components – robot body – system integration.
From the perspective of strategic synergy, after Haier’s strategic investment in 2025, the two parties will form in-depth synergy.
On this basis, New Star has built an open cooperation ecosystem and cooperated with Alibaba Cloud, NVIDIA, ByteDance, etc. to accelerate the iteration and scenario expansion of embodied intelligence technology, and promote the “acceleration” of the industrialization process of industrial humanoid robots.
With SYNDA R1 as a new starting point, SYNDA promotes embodied intelligence to truly enter the core link of industrial production. In the future, it will work with industry partners to jointly promote the profound transformation of China’s manufacturing industry and carve a distinct coordinate of China’s innovation in the new map of global intelligent manufacturing.
