On that day, the first batch of 10 containers of konjac products officially set off with the expectations and blessings of the people of Muchuan County.
They will take a boat via Shanghai and ride the wind and waves all the way to the distant American continent.
This is not only Muchuan County’s first foreign trade export order for konjac products this year, but also marks a brilliant victory in Muchuan County’s first battle of “fighting for the start and progress” of foreign trade exports.
In recent years, Muchuan County has closely focused on the konjac industry, deeply exploring its development potential, and successfully created a full industry chain model of “planting + processing + sales”.
The large-scale planting area of konjac in the county has reached 35,000 acres, covering 10 towns including Dibao Township, Yongfu Town, and Muxi Town.
Moreover, the influence of this industry continues to radiate outward, driving the planting area in surrounding districts and counties to more than 80,000 acres, with a comprehensive output value of up to 2 billion yuan.
In the past three years, the average annual export volume of Muchuan County’s konjac products has exceeded US$20 million, and its export scale ranks among the top in the country. Its konjac products are sold in more than 60 countries and regions around the world.
Gan Xiaoyu, sales manager of Sichuan Sentaiyuan Biotechnology Co., Ltd., said that the total value of this export order to the Americas is US$4 million.
The first batch of 10 containers shipped is worth US$1 million. The remaining goods will be shipped in batches as planned, and all orders are expected to be shipped before March 10.
The destination of this batch of orders is the top membership-only supermarket Costco in the United States. This is undoubtedly a high recognition of the quality of Muchuan County konjac products, and also means that the company’s products are favored by more consumers in the European and American markets.
