Midea recently held a whole-house intelligence strategy conference in Shanghai with the theme of “Wisdom and Beauty”, marking a watershed for the smart home industry.
In the past few years, the core topic of the smart home industry has always revolved around single-point intelligence, and the whole-house intelligence strategy launched by Midea this time has officially pushed the industry proposition to a new level of connection and understanding.

For a long time, smart homes have always had an embarrassing pain point: even if all devices in the home are connected to the Internet, users still need to act as commander-in-chief and issue precise instructions one by one to control the devices.
This seemingly intelligent but actually cumbersome experience is rooted in the fact that the intelligent system lacks true independent judgment and understanding capabilities.
In response to the “stubborn problems” in this industry, Midea launched the “Three Ones” strategy for the first time at the press conference, namely a home power grid, a smart brain, and an open platform to systematically break the limitations of single-point intelligence.
The confidence of “One Home Grid” comes from Midea’s own solid hardware background.
500 million home appliances with Internet capabilities, more than 140 million devices running online, and AI-based layouts covering more than 150 categories form an amazingly large sensing and execution network.
Users can realize convenient interaction with home devices through entrances such as the Mercure App or smart central control screen, so that device connection is no longer the ultimate goal, but lays a solid foundation for subsequent active understanding and services.
“A smart brain” is the core engine of this change.
MevoX, Midea’s self-developed home smart device, gives the device the ability to “think” for the first time.
It has two core functions of high-order reasoning and continuous memory – simply put, it can not only understand what the user says, but also remember the user’s habits and preferences.
Based on MevoX, Midea has also further built a home intelligent navigation system MIA 1.0 to achieve unified scheduling and optimal decision-making of equipment throughout the house.

“An open platform” reflects Midea’s differentiated ideas in ecological construction.
Midea adheres to the path of open cooperation. Internally, it breaks through the data barriers of all categories of its home appliances and achieves deep collaboration between devices. Externally, it establishes cooperation with mobile phone manufacturers such as Huawei and vivo, as well as car companies such as BYD and NIO, and is the first to implement innovative scenarios such as A2A interconnection between mobile phones and home appliances and two-way control of car owners.
From home to travel, Midea is building a cross-domain, all-scenario smart ecosystem.
From “single-point intelligence” to “whole-house understanding”, the significance of Midea’s strategic conference is far more than an iteration at the product level. It also marks that the smart home industry is transcending the primary stage of “connection” and truly moving into the deep-water area of “active service”.
When technology no longer makes users tired of operations, but returns to true insights into family life, the value of smart homes can truly be reflected.
The smart home industry is ushering in a new stage of development. Midea’s strategic layout undoubtedly provides new directions and ideas for the development of the industry, and is expected to bring consumers a more convenient and smart home experience in the future.
