On the afternoon of February 7, the first anniversary ceremony of the Meizhou Cross-border E-Commerce Association and the Meizhou Comprehensive Bonded Zone Cross-border E-commerce Investment Promotion Conference were held grandly at the Howard Johnson Changsheng Hotel in Meizhou.
This event was jointly organized by the Meizhou Comprehensive Bonded Zone Management Committee and the Meizhou Cross-Border E-Commerce Association, under the guidance of the Meizhou Municipal Commerce Bureau. It brought together more than 250 companies and units, including government leaders, well-known e-commerce platforms, leading supply chain companies, local high-quality manufacturers, representatives of relevant business associations, and business recruitment teams across the city. A total of about 300 people participated to discuss new opportunities for the development of Meizhou’s cross-border e-commerce industry and draw a new blueprint for open cooperation.
This event marks the implementation of the first important cooperation results between the Meizhou Comprehensive Free Trade Zone Management Committee and the Meizhou Cross-Border E-Commerce Association since they signed a strategic cooperation agreement during the Seventh World Merchant Conference on November 24 last year. It is a vivid practice of deepening the linkage between the government and the conference and building an industrial development community.
The event aims to further leverage the policy overlay advantages of the Meizhou Comprehensive Bonded Zone and the Cross-border E-commerce Comprehensive Pilot Zone, integrate cross-border full-chain resources, empower the Jiangsu District’s brands to go overseas, and promote the high-quality development of Meizhou’s export-oriented economy.
The conference reviewed the development history of the Meizhou Cross-border E-Commerce Association on its first anniversary, listened to the association’s annual work report, and held the association’s licensing ceremony and cross-border e-commerce summit forum.
At the forum, industry experts focused on the development trends of cross-border e-commerce and opportunities in Meizhou, and conducted in-depth discussions on new industry trends, new blue oceans in the market, and Meizhou’s unique development opportunities.
As the core link of the event, the Meizhou Comprehensive Bonded Zone Cross-border E-commerce Investment Promotion Conference fully demonstrated the development results and unique advantages of the Meizhou Comprehensive Bonded Zone as the first national-level open platform in Meizhou.
Since the customs closure, the import and export volume of Meizhou Comprehensive Bonded Zone has achieved leapfrog growth, and a complete bonded warehousing warehouse, standard factory buildings and a “district-port linkage” logistics network have been built.
The promotion meeting focused on interpreting the “real money” policies for cross-border e-commerce companies such as customs clearance convenience and support for development, as well as innovative models such as “1210 bonded stocking”, “front store and back warehouse”, bonded + live broadcast, etc., to effectively transform the policy advantages into the market competitiveness of enterprises going overseas.
The event also set up a number of special sharing sessions, including cross-border financial service support solutions, Nuggets of Russia cross-border new blue ocean and postal cross-border logistics comprehensive solutions, etc., providing participating companies with cutting-edge and practical market development and operation path references.
Deng Guanghui, deputy director of the Meizhou Comprehensive Free Trade Zone Management Committee, said in his speech that relying on the policy advantages of the “Soviet Area + Bay Area” and the solid foundation of characteristic industries, the Meizhou Comprehensive Free Trade Zone is working closely with the association to jointly plan to build a cross-border e-commerce characteristic industry cluster and build a new channel for Meizhou brands to go overseas.
The Administrative Committee will serve as an “escort” for enterprises on overseas expeditions with the greatest sincerity and best services. It hopes that through the collaborative efforts of “parks + associations + enterprises”, Meizhou will become an important cross-border e-commerce industry gathering center and regional distribution center in Northeast Guangdong and even the former Central Soviet Area, allowing more “Made in Meizhou” and “Hakka premium products” to go global along the “Digital Silk Road”.
The holding of this conference not only built a high-level government-enterprise docking, industry exchange and investment cooperation platform for Meizhou’s cross-border e-commerce industry, but also demonstrated Meizhou’s determination and vitality to continue to expand high-level opening up to the outside world and deepen the development of integration.
Guests attending the meeting said that through this event, they deeply felt the surging momentum and broad prospects of Meizhou’s development of cross-border e-commerce, and they also looked forward to the Meizhou Comprehensive Free Trade Zone continuing to release policy dividends, strengthening the open platform, gathering industrial ecology, escorting enterprises to sail overseas with higher standards and better services, and linking to the global market.
