Many achievements of Chinese mining companies have helped the development of global mining

Recently, there have been frequent good news in China’s mining industry. Many companies have achieved remarkable results in technological innovation and international cooperation, promoting the global mining industry to move towards intelligence and greening.

On May 12, 2026, Sinoma Mining’s “Digital Intelligence Empowerment, Green Navigation” unmanned driving conference was held grandly at the southern limestone mine in Fushan, De’an, Jiangxi.
This marks the official implementation of its independently developed green smart mine unmanned transportation system.
The system adopts a “vehicle-road-cloud” integrated collaborative architecture. Currently, 12 pure electric unmanned mining trucks have been put into normal operation, realizing operations without safety personnel.
The vehicle can autonomously complete the entire process of loading, transporting, unloading, parking, charging, and maintenance operations. It can even drive into a safe zone to avoid danger when blasting in a mining area.
In addition, the system also supports the mixed operation of unmanned mining trucks and manned vehicles to adapt to complex operating scenarios.
This unmanned transportation system was independently developed by the Sinoma (Nanjing) Mining Research Institute. It integrates functions such as high-precision 3D modeling, real-time monitoring, intelligent dispatching and dynamic decision-making. It builds a “mining smart brain” and provides a mature model for large-scale and intelligent operations of open-pit mines.

Rio Tinto Group and the University of Science and Technology Beijing recently officially signed the “Steel Decarbonization Cooperation Research Agreement.”
The two parties will jointly explore new ways to reduce carbon emissions in the ironmaking process, bring together the professional advantages of upstream mining, steel companies and academia, and focus on basic research and industrial testing of blast furnace carbon emission reduction technology.
This cooperation aims to improve the efficiency of the iron-making process, reduce carbon emissions, and promote the application of relevant results in actual production, and has the potential for large-scale promotion in the industry.
Rio Tinto stated that it is committed to collaborating with customers and partners to explore low-carbon and industrially competitive solutions, which marks a substantial step forward in cooperation between the two parties in the field of green metallurgical technology.

Shandong Energy Group integrated the German CFH company through cross-border mergers and acquisitions, achieving a deep integration of German high-end technology with Chinese manufacturing and market advantages.
CFH Company is the “hidden champion” in the field of mining and industrial dust removal and ventilation. Its equipment’s dust removal rate is as high as 99.99%, and its energy consumption is 50% lower than similar domestic products.
Since the first cooperation in 2017, its products have been recognized for their efficiency and reliability, which eventually led to mergers and acquisitions.
After the merger, CFH transformed from a family business into a state-owned holding company. Relying on Shandong Energy’s channels, CFH successfully won the bid to serve major national projects such as the lower reaches of the Brahmaputra River hydropower project.
In the first quarter of 2026, CFH achieved a total profit of 3.72 million euros, significantly exceeding the budget by 1.79 million euros.
Promoting the localization of core components by setting up a production base in China has effectively reduced costs.
Currently, with the help of domestic strict environmental protection policies, CFH is promoting its advanced industrial dust removal technology to a broader market, achieving multiple benefits of technology introduction, industrial upgrading and market expansion.

On May 9, 2026, Sichuan Natural Resources Digital Technology Co., Ltd. (Natural Science) and Huayun Zhiyuan (Chengdu) Technology Co., Ltd. held cooperation negotiations.
The two parties conducted exchanges around the overall construction of smart mines and reached a number of consensuses.
Natural Digital has advantages in technology and industry resources, and Huayun Zhiyuan has products and solutions in the fields of intelligent belt conveyors and intelligent inspection robots.
The two parties have made it clear that they will carry out special cooperation focusing on the intelligent construction of the Honggenan vanadium-titanium mining area, jointly create industry benchmark projects, establish a project interoperability and sharing mechanism, and deepen joint research and development in AI applications and artificial intelligence core technologies to jointly promote the digital transformation and upgrading of the mining industry.

In Congo (DRC), known as the “World’s Raw Material Warehouse”, more than one hundred sets of XCMG’s complete sets of open-pit mining equipment are serving major mining projects to ensure efficient and stable production in the mining area.
XCMG’s complete set of solutions of “excavation, transportation, and auxiliary mining” has become a solid guarantee for local resource development.
Under complex and harsh working conditions, XCMG equipment relies on high attendance, high efficiency and high reliability, low failure rate and convenient maintenance to effectively help customers reduce operating costs.
At the same time, XCMG aims at the demand for “smart mines” and has systematically laid out new energy technology routes such as electric and hybrid. Its products cover more than 10 categories such as mining trucks, mining excavations, loaders, and graders.
In order to ensure the stable operation of equipment, XCMG has innovatively adopted the “lightweight on-site, high-guaranteed output” service model in the South Africa region, dispatched professional service engineers to form a mine-based team, and relied on the front-site mine spare parts warehouse to build an efficient supply guarantee system to ensure continuous and efficient mine production.
