From initial repair and retreading to today’s cutting-edge definitions, every optimization of the tread pattern and every application of synthetic materials records the unwavering commitment to “innovation.”
</ … For the first twelve years (1975-1986), Linglong primarily focused on tire repair and retreading, with its business nearly stagnating due to outdated equipment. However, this arduous period forged a strong understanding of "technology," laying the spiritual foundation for subsequent transformations. With the wave of reform and opening up (1987-2000), Linglong's technological awakening transformed into a product category strategy. Its products gradually expanded from low-end carriage tires to passenger car tires. By 2000, a product matrix of five major series and over two hundred specifications had been initially formed, placing the company among the top bias-ply tire manufacturers in China. This stage represented a leap from "workshop-style" improvements to systematic product development. In the new century (2001-2013), the global tire industry underwent a radial revolution, and Linglong initiated a strategic transformation, shifting from bias-ply tires to the research and development and production of semi-steel and all-steel radial tires. With its R&D focus on "high quality, low energy consumption, and high added value," Linglong has achieved remarkable results, completing a crucial leap from "catching up in scale" to "parallel technological development." As China became the world's largest automobile consumer market (2014-2020), Linglong's R&D system became more precise and agile. Its product portfolio expanded, and its independently developed fuel-efficient tires won the National Technological Invention Award, achieving a transformation from "technological breakthrough" to "technological brand." Facing the major changes in the automotive industry (2021-present), Linglong's R&D vision is turned to the future. On the one hand, it deeply cultivates the needs of consumer upgrading, launching high-end products; on the other hand, it keeps abreast of global industry trends, developing a variety of innovative tires.
Among them, the 79% sustainable material tire was jointly developed with multiple universities, transforming agricultural waste and industrial by-products into high-performance tire materials, achieving a perfect balance between environmental protection and high performance; the innovative structural design of the airless tire solves users’ anxieties about tire blowouts, punctures, and leaks.
Today, Linglong has established eight R&D centers covering the globe and China’s first large-scale outdoor comprehensive tire testing ground, with R&D investment exceeding that of leading international brands.
