Linglong Tire shines at WBCSD Annual Conference, 85% sustainable material tires attract global attention

On April 27–28, the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) held its 2026 Annual Meeting in Switzerland. The President of Linglong Tire attended by invitation to share the company's sustainability strategy and was presented with a membership certificate. During the event, Linglong showcased a tire made from 85% sustainable materials—featuring industry-leading performance—as part of its goal to achieve 100% sustainable tires by 2040.

On April 27, the 2026 Annual Meeting of the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) was held grandly at the Fairmont Palace Hotel in Montreux, Switzerland.
As one of the largest sustainable development conferences in the global business community, this annual conference brings together approximately 600 participating representatives from nearly 170 leading companies in 50 countries around the world.
The conference organized more than 60 meetings for in-depth dialogue around important topics such as 2030 emission reduction actions, ESG ratings and information disclosure, circular economy and key material safety, integration of AI and sustainable development, systemic risks and policy coordination.

The China Sustainable Business Practice Special Session held on April 28 focused on the three core areas of global low-carbon transformation, supply chain resilience, and carbon data transparency, and showcased the sustainable development solutions of Chinese enterprises that can be scaled, replicated, and promoted.
This marks that China is accelerating its upgrade from an “active practitioner” of global sustainable development to a “solution provider”, contributing to the world its green transformation experience with Chinese characteristics and global value.

Linglong Tire President Zhou Lingkun was invited to attend and delivered a speech, sharing in-depth about Linglong Tire’s sustainable development strategy, green innovation practices and global carbon reduction commitments.
At the meeting, Linglong Tire was officially awarded the WBCSD membership certificate and became one of the new representatives of Chinese tire companies to join the international platform in 2026.

In his sharing at the annual meeting, Zhou Lingkun emphasized that in the context of the in-depth advancement of the global “double-carbon” goal, sustainable development has changed from an “optional question” for enterprises to a “must-answer question.”
Linglong Tire integrates green and low-carbon concepts into the core of its development strategy. It not only achieves product iteration through technological innovation, but is also committed to building a green ecology throughout the entire industry chain.

Linglong Tire has formulated a clear path to carbon neutrality and continues to promote the company’s dual-carbon goals from aspects such as energy utilization, sustainable tire R&D and innovation, and supplier management.
Determined to reduce emissions by 52.07% by 2035 and achieve net-zero emissions by 2050.
At the practical level, Linglong Tire has made overall progress through the five dimensions of “new materials, new technologies, new processes, new equipment, and new energy”, from raw materials to production processes, to product use and end of life cycle, outlining a clear green transformation path.

In addition, Linglong Tire attaches great importance to the collaborative responsibility of the industrial chain.
As the first tire company in mainland China to join the Global Platform for Sustainable Natural Rubber (GPSNR), the company actively promotes supply chain compliance and transparency, and extends environmental responsibility to raw materials through the FSC certification project to ensure sustainable management of the entire chain from forests to tires.
At the same time, a reclaimed rubber workshop was built, and the use of liquid reclaimed rubber, thermal cracking carbon black, etc. was promoted to effectively resolve the environmental pressure caused by waste tires and form a virtuous cycle of “resources-products-renewable resources”.

“Green development is both a responsibility and an opportunity. Linglong Tire is willing to share experience and coordinate actions with global partners to jointly promote the industrial and commercial community to form a strategic consensus on sustainable development.” Zhou Lingkun said.
Linglong Tire’s practice and sharing received positive comments from corporate executives and representatives of international organizations from participating countries.

During this annual meeting, Linglong Tire exhibited its newly developed 85% sustainable material tires, which became one of the highlights of the entire technology display.
The bio-based renewable materials of this tire account for more than 60%, recycled materials account for about 25%, and the total sustainable materials account for 85%.
This ratio not only ranks first in China’s tire industry, but also reaches the world’s leading level.
Compared with the previous industry-focused 79% sustainable material tire, Linglong once again achieved a key technological leap in less than a year.

Behind this breakthrough is Linglong Tire’s systematic reshaping of the core structure of rubber polymers, fibers and steel cords, relying on the “Three Kingdoms and Eight Regions” global R&D platform.
By using innovative materials such as rice husk gray silica black and bio-based rubber to replace traditional petroleum-based raw materials, the product’s carbon footprint is reduced from the source.
What’s more, the high environmental attributes come without sacrificing performance.
This tire reaches the EU tire label’s highest level, Class A, in many key indicators such as rolling resistance and wet braking, achieving both “green” and “performance”.

“85% is just a new starting point.” Zhou Lingkun said in his speech that Linglong Tire’s long-term goal is to achieve 100% sustainable tire materials by 2040, so that every driving car is equipped with fully recycled green tires.
This official joining of WBCSD marks that Linglong Tire’s sustainable development practices have been recognized by top international platforms.
In the future, Linglong Tire will participate deeply in discussions and collaborations on global sustainability issues as a member, explore a future path for win-win business and nature with global leading companies and international organizations, and deliver a wonderful answer to the question of green travel to the world.
