On June 26, the 2026 Automobile-Tire Cross-border Development Summit Forum was officially held in Beijing. With the theme of “Moving towards innovation and working together for win-win results”, this forum focused on the collaborative development opportunities of the automobile and tire industries in the post-growth era, attracting hundreds of industry practitioners to participate.

Relevant industry leaders pointed out in the opening speech that the core keywords of China’s auto market in 2026 are adjustment and integration. After years of rapid development, the domestic auto market has officially bid farewell to the explosive growth stage and entered a new development cycle of “high sales, low growth”. Industry competition has further intensified, and both the upstream and downstream industry chains are facing new development challenges.
The tire industry, which is deeply tied to the automobile industry, is currently in a critical period of deep adjustment and fierce differentiation. The entire industry as a whole is showing a development situation of “volume increase and profit decrease, ice and fire”: On the one hand, as the domestic car ownership continues to rise and the scale of new energy vehicles overseas continues to expand, the overall tire market shipments maintain a steady upward trend, and the overseas sales of leading companies
The year-on-year increase in external orders generally exceeds 15%; on the other hand, the prices of upstream natural rubber and chemical raw materials fluctuate frequently, and international shipping costs fluctuate. In addition, some countries and regions frequently introduce international trade barrier policies. The profit margins of most tire companies are constantly being compressed. Many small and medium-sized tire manufacturers even have the embarrassing situation of “the more orders, the more losses”.

The core purpose of this forum is to build a cross-border communication bridge between the two related industries, guide practitioners to deepen exchanges and coordinate development with a positive attitude, and jointly overcome the painful period of industry development.
Many guests at the scene said that the automobile industry and the tire industry have never been isolated individuals, but an industrial community with a shared destiny and value creation. In the current market environment, cross-border collaboration has become an inevitable requirement for industry development: the two parties can jointly develop low-rolling resistance, wear-resistant, silent special tires suitable for new energy vehicles to enhance the market for their products.
Competitiveness; they can also go overseas as a team to jointly connect overseas dealer resources, jointly respond to trade policy adjustments in different markets, and share supporting resources such as overseas warehousing and after-sales outlets to reduce overseas operating costs; they can also establish a joint risk early warning mechanism to jointly respond to common risks such as raw material price fluctuations and changes in shipping costs, and stabilize the company’s operating profits.
It is understood that during this forum, more than ten car companies and tire companies have reached preliminary cooperation intentions. In the future, the two parties will carry out in-depth cooperation in various fields such as supporting product research and development, overseas market expansion, and jointly explore a new development path for industry win-win.
