In the first two months of this year, my country’s machinery industry got off to a good start.
We learned from the China Machinery Industry Federation that during this period, my country’s machinery industry production and investment got off to a good start, production and supply growth accelerated, market demand rose steadily, new productive forces grew and expanded, and the economy got off to a strong start, achieving a good start.
From January to February this year, the added value of the five major industries mainly involved in the machinery industry maintained a year-on-year growth trend.
The general equipment manufacturing industry increased by 8.9%, the special equipment manufacturing industry increased by 8.8%, the automobile manufacturing industry increased by 3.4%, the electrical machinery and equipment manufacturing industry increased by 8.7%, and the instrumentation manufacturing industry increased by 7.8%.
It is worth noting that the equipment manufacturing industry has experienced particularly outstanding growth in these two months, with its added value increasing by 9.3% year-on-year, which is 3.0 percentage points faster than the added value of all industries above designated size.
This data fully demonstrates the important position and strong driving force of the equipment manufacturing industry in my country’s industrial development.
As the first year of the “15th Five-Year Plan”, the equipment manufacturing industry has a clear development direction in 2026.
The person in charge of the China Machinery Industry Federation said that the equipment manufacturing industry will develop in the direction of intelligence, greenness, and integration, and is committed to promoting the construction of a modern industrial system with advanced manufacturing as the backbone.
Xu Niansha, President of the China Machinery Industry Federation, pointed out that on the implementation path, “three reinforcements” must be done.
The first is to strengthen the reconstruction of the industrial base and focus on weak links such as industrial motherboards, high-end chips, and basic software.
These areas are the key foundation for the development of my country’s machinery industry. Only by breaking through these weak links can the overall competitiveness of my country’s machinery industry be improved.
The second step is to strengthen research on major technical equipment and promote the research and development of iconic products such as high-end medical equipment, precision instruments, and advanced agricultural machinery and equipment.
The successful research and development of these products will help enhance my country’s voice in the field of high-end equipment manufacturing.
The last step is to strengthen quality brand building and enhance the international reputation of “Made in China”.
Good quality and brand are the foundation for enterprises to gain a foothold in the international market. By strengthening quality brand building, “Made in China” can be made more attractive in the global market.
In general, the good start of the machinery industry in the first two months of 2026 has laid a solid foundation for the development of the whole year.
As the equipment manufacturing industry continues to move toward intelligence, greenness, and integration, my country’s machinery industry is expected to achieve better results in the international market and make greater contributions to global economic development.
