According to relevant statistics, in the first five months of this year, the import and export of goods trade in 12 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities in western my country showed impressive results.
The total import and export value reached 2.06 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 18.5%, and achieved double-digit growth for six consecutive months. The scale reached a new high in the same period in history, and the contribution rate to the national foreign trade growth during the same period reached 11.7%.
From the specific import and export data, exports reached 1.3 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 16.6%; imports were 759.67 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 22%.
This growth not only reflects the vitality of the western region in foreign trade, but also reflects the continuous optimization and adjustment of its economic structure.
In terms of enterprises, the number of enterprises with import and export performance reached 39,000, a year-on-year increase of 18.5%.
Among them, private enterprises accounted for a large proportion, reaching 36,000.
The active participation of private enterprises has injected new impetus into the development of foreign trade in the western region and also demonstrated the diversity and vitality of market entities.
It is worth mentioning that in the first five months, the western region’s import and export performance with countries co-building the “Belt and Road” was very outstanding.
The import and export volume reached 1.3 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 18.2%, accounting for more than 60% of the total foreign trade import and export value of the western region.
This fully reflects the important status and positive role of the western region under the “Belt and Road” initiative. By strengthening trade with countries along the route, it not only promotes the development of the regional economy, but also makes an important contribution to the stable growth of my country’s foreign trade.
The record-high import and export scale in the western region benefits from many factors.
