Relevant information in June shows that data compiled and released by authoritative organizations show that the national building materials and home furnishing prosperity index BHI was 129.68 in May, an increase of 13.60 points month-on-month and a year-on-year increase of 3.96 points.
In that month, the sales of large-scale building materials and home furnishing stores across the country increased by 15.07% month-on-month. Some analysts pointed out that the “May Day” consumption boom, the release of the traditional wedding decoration peak season, and the centralized implementation of home trade-in subsidies in various places have taken effect. These three core driving forces have jointly leveraged terminal consumption of building materials and home furnishings.
In terms of specific data, the sales of building materials and home furnishing stores above designated size nationwide were 128.694 billion yuan in May, a month-on-month increase of 15.07% and a year-on-year increase of 2.86%.
Cumulative sales from January to May were 548.496 billion yuan, down 4.01% year-on-year.
Judging from the national real estate market situation, the high transaction volume of second-hand houses has driven the concentrated release of demand for overall renovation of existing houses, partial renovation of kitchens and bathrooms, aging-friendly renovations, and whole-house quality upgrades.
Coupled with the implementation of the policies of the “15th Five-Year Plan for Urban Renewal” and the comprehensive advancement of projects such as the renovation of old communities and the quality improvement of urban villages, the stock renovation market has officially become the most stable and core growth pole of the building materials and home furnishing industry. Judging from the performance of each BHI index, the “Popularity Index” increased by 55.67 points month-on-month in May, ranking first, and rising 4.47 points year-on-year.
Analysts believe that the “May Day” consumption boom coupled with the implementation of home trade-in subsidies in various places, major building materials and home furnishing stores launched a variety of promotional activities, which greatly stimulated residents’ willingness to shop and experience shopping, and the customer flow of terminal stores increased significantly.
This month’s “Managers’ Confidence Index” rose 8.17 points year-on-year, ranking first in month-on-month declines.
As a leading index, although the index has fallen back in the short term, its absolute value is 56.30 (above 50 is optimistic about the market outlook, and a value below 50 is optimistic about the market outlook), which is still in a relatively high prosperity range. This shows that industry practitioners’ confidence in the mid- to long-term market recovery and stock transformation track growth has not been shaken.
Generally speaking, the building materials and home furnishing market showed a positive development trend in May, and the growth in sales and the performance of various indices reflected the vitality of the market.
Although cumulative sales from January to May fell year-on-year, the rise of the stock renovation market has brought new opportunities and growth points to the industry.
