In April 2026, the national decoration and building materials market encountered a collective price increase storm. The entire industry chain such as waterproofing, coatings, cement, and furniture was affected, and the cost pressure was directly passed on to ordinary owners.

First of all, let’s look at the waterproofing industry, whose price increases are the most alarming.
Oriental Yuhong issued a notice on April 16 that the price of engineering waterproofing products will increase by 3% – 8% starting from April 30. This is the third price increase this year, and it was adjusted twice in March.
Leading brands such as Beixin Waterproofing and Keshun Co., Ltd. have also followed up with price increases, and the entire industry has completely entered price increase mode.
The core reason for the price increase in the waterproofing industry is the skyrocketing price of raw materials. Asphalt has increased by 53%, acrylic emulsion has increased by 47%, epoxy resin has increased by 30%, MDI has increased by 28%, and PP/PE has increased by 44%. All of this has been driven by the increase in international crude oil prices.
Taking Oriental Yuhong as an example, its revenue will reach 27.6 billion in 2025, but its net profit will be only 113 million, and its net profit rate is as low as 0.4%, the lowest level in ten years. It is really difficult to bear the cost pressure without raising prices.
The coatings industry is not immune either.
Sankeshu, a leading domestic company, has made two price adjustments. On April 17, it announced that prices would increase by another 3% to 25% starting from May 1. It also stated that it reserves the right to adjust prices at any time.
As early as April 15, the international giant PPG announced that the entire range of global products would increase by up to 20%, which shows that this price increase is a global trend.

Cement prices are also rising.
Linshui Hongshi Cement in southwest China has increased by 50 yuan per ton, and Chongqing Jinyu Jidong has increased by 60 yuan per ton; Taiyuan, Hebei and other places in northern China have also increased prices by 30-50 yuan per ton.
The dual pressures of environmental protection and cost have caused project quotations to rise.
The furniture industry is also facing tremendous pressure.
Shunde is the largest furniture market in the country. In April, the association issued a reminder that raw materials such as sponges, wood, and hardware have increased in price across the board, and it is inevitable that end product prices will increase.
Industry insiders are caught in a dilemma. If the price increases, they are worried that no one will buy it. If the price does not increase, there will be no profit.
It is worth noting that this wave of price increases is a complete transmission process from upstream raw materials to midstream companies to terminal decoration. It is not a short-term speculation, and the possibility of a price drop in the short term is very small.
Therefore, friends who are planning to renovate need to make adequate budget preparations and reserve at least 10% – 15% more of the budget.
If you can determine the decoration materials in advance, don’t delay, because the price may be higher the further you go.
