From June 12th to 14th, Huawei Developer Conference 2026 (HDC2026) was held grandly in Songshan Lake, Dongguan.
The conference focused on “Hongmeng Ecology and AI Frontier Technology” and released HarmonyOS7.0 and a number of artificial intelligence core capabilities.
As an important partner of the OpenHarmony smart home appliance ecosystem, Haier Smart Home was invited to participate in HDC2026 to share the latest results of the open ecosystem, and work with Huawei to explore smart device connection, experience optimization and service innovation, and upgrade the new smart home experience.

Smart home development has long faced pain points such as brand barriers and APP islands.
How to improve cross-brand device connection efficiency, ease of use and service experience has become a top priority for the current industry development.
At the Hongmeng Intelligent Connect theme forum, Niu Bo, director of Haier Smart Home Research Institute, shared that he will open up collaboration with Huawei to promote the smart devices of both parties to be connectable, controllable, customizable, serviceable, and evolveable, and jointly create a new smart home experience.
Relying on the ecological capabilities of OpenHarmony and HarmonyOS, Haier Smart Home brings a more natural and efficient connection experience.
Users can quickly discover home appliances by bringing their mobile phones close to the device, and realize convenient operations such as one-click login and one-click binding, which greatly simplifies the device connection process and makes smart home appliances truly “connect and use”.
In terms of device management, Haier Smart Home has upgraded the Smart Home APP to a one-stop smart life platform, creating the first entrance to smart homes.
Users can use the Smart Home APP to handle the entire life cycle of smart home services including purchase, installation, maintenance, and repairs with one click. They can communicate with the AI voice assistant “Xiaoyou” about whole-house energy consumption, equipment consumables, and fault self-diagnosis. They can use 3D Home View 2.0 to visually manage appliances throughout the house, customize smart scenes based on personal living habits, and link multiple smart devices with one click to make your home understand you better.
Now, the entrance to Haier Smart Home has added the control of Huawei Smart Life APP.
In the Huawei Smart Life App, users can centrally manage and control smart home appliances, search for and learn about Haier products, view relevant product content and service information, jump directly to e-commerce platforms such as JD.com to complete purchases, and experience full-link services that are searchable, controllable, and purchasable.

For OpenHarmony, Haier Smart Home is not a new face.
In March this year, Haier Smart Home and Shanghai HiSilicon jointly released the industry’s first AI-era smart home operating system based on OpenHarmony.
During the AWE, Haier Smart Home, as one of the leading units, jointly released the “Smart Home Unified Interconnect Series Standard” (OneConnect) together with Huawei, Shanghai HiSilicon and other industry partners and industry peers to accelerate the construction of a new smart home ecosystem of interconnection, co-construction and sharing.
Niu Bo said in his sharing that as AI decision-making capabilities continue to improve, smart homes are moving from passive responses to active services.
Haier Smart Home builds a home embodied intelligence system that integrates perception, decision-making, connection, and execution, and creates the industry’s first vertical Uhome smart home vertical model.
This is also the first large model system in the industry to pass the highest double 4+ certification.
With its deep efforts in smart scene experience and ecological cooperation, Haier’s smart home user base has grown steadily.
Currently, the cumulative number of registered users worldwide exceeds 130 million, and the monthly active users of the Haier Smart Home APP exceed 13 million.
Haier Smart Home and Huawei have joined forces to once again expand the ecological boundaries of smart homes.
In the ten years since the smart home strategy was released, Haier Smart Home has always adhered to comprehensive ecological openness, believing that only two-way openness is true openness.
Haier Smart Home will continue to adhere to the open and win-win development concept, deepen cooperation with more ecological partners, jointly promote the innovative development of the smart home industry, and create a more convenient, comfortable, and intelligent life experience for users.
