Google’s cross-border e-commerce acceleration center lands in Hangzhou to help companies on their new journey overseas

2026年6月1日,谷歌跨境电商加速中心宣布落地杭州上城区,预计2026年第三季度投入运营。该中心将助力企业从平台卖货向自建独立站品牌化转型,为杭州跨境电商产业带来新动能。

On June 1, 2026, Google’s Cross-Border E-commerce Acceleration Center announced that it will be located in Hangzhou, located at the Hualian UDC Building in Qianjiang New Town, Shangcheng District, and is expected to be put into operation in the third quarter of 2026.
This is another heavyweight cross-border e-commerce empowerment platform set up by Google in China. Through systematic training, it will help cross-border overseas enterprises shift from “selling goods on other people’s platforms” to “building brands on their own official websites” and comprehensively improve their actual overseas capabilities.

Why choose Hangzhou?
In the words of Chen Jian, director of the Cross-border E-commerce Comprehensive Testing Division of the Hangzhou Municipal Bureau of Commerce: “Hangzhou is the country’s first cross-border e-commerce comprehensive test zone. It has a complete supply chain and has gathered top platforms, technical service providers, logistics systems and digital talents.” In Google’s view, Hangzhou’s cross-border e-commerce has a distinct “two-wheel drive”: one is “ecological integrity” and the other is “brand endogenous power.”
Google has placed its acceleration center here to use its global digital marketing resources to directly and quickly help these companies and brands expand overseas business.

At present, Zhejiang is focusing on building a high-level cross-border e-commerce international hub province, and Hangzhou, as the core engine, is making every effort to build a world-class cross-border e-commerce demonstration center.
Shangcheng District is the professional overseas service highland for Hangzhou’s cross-border industries.
Data is the best confidence: In 2025, Shangcheng District’s goods trade exports exceeded the 60 billion yuan mark for the first time, reaching 60.707 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 31.1%, ranking first in the city in growth rate, maintaining a high growth of more than 30% for 12 consecutive months; cross-border e-commerce exports reached 7.087 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 538.97%.

“Seven of the top ten accounting firms in the country came, and five of the top ten law firms came. High-energy leading institutions accounted for 50% of all Hangzhou.” Yang Yue, a member of the Party Working Committee of Sijiqing Street in Shangcheng District, said.
This also means that if a cross-border company wants to go global, it can find top global partners in Shangcheng District, ranging from auditing, legal affairs, finance and taxation to overseas market consulting, just by going downstairs and having a cup of coffee.

What will the center bring to Hangzhou?
As an important measure taken by Google to support the global business expansion of cross-border e-commerce companies, the center will closely integrate Hangzhou’s advantages in live streaming e-commerce, Internet celebrity economy and MCN industry, and help companies deepen their understanding of the construction and operation of independent websites through systematic professional training, and comprehensively improve the actual combat capabilities of independent websites going overseas.

At the same time, the acceleration center will also strive to build an exchange and cooperation platform for independent ecological partners.
By holding regular industry seminars, theme salons and other activities, we help enterprises connect with high-quality resources in core areas such as logistics, payment, and website building, and provide one-stop solutions for the construction of independent websites for cross-border e-commerce.

The launch of the Google (Hangzhou) Cross-border E-commerce Acceleration Center will not only help local cross-border e-commerce companies improve their independent overseas overseas capabilities and operational efficiency, and promote the brand transformation of enterprises, but will also further promote the gathering of cross-border e-commerce service companies in Hangzhou and help Hangzhou build a new cross-border overseas industry ecosystem.

In fact, in addition to the soon-to-be-launched Google Cross-border E-commerce Acceleration Center, Shangcheng District’s investment attraction map is becoming a place where major manufacturers gather.
At the “First New Year Meeting” in Hangzhou at the beginning of the year, Shangcheng District announced its goals: to sprint towards a GDP of 300 billion yuan, build Baidu’s first intelligent cloud innovation center in Hangzhou, and accelerate the launch of ByteDance’s artificial intelligence business center.

One month later, Baidu Intelligent Cloud Qianfan Large Model Industrial Innovation Center signed a contract to settle in Changmu Artificial Intelligence Industrial Park.
From contact to signing, it only took three months.
“Even during the Spring Festival, Shangcheng District kept in touch with us and progressed very quickly.” said Lu Lang, director of Baidu Intelligent Cloud Qianfan at the time.
ByteDance ran earlier.
In May last year, Hangzhou Volcano Engine Technology was registered in Shangcheng District and became a wholly-owned subsidiary of Bytedance Cloud and AI Enterprise Service Platform.
In March this year, the two parties signed a contract to jointly build a high-end data annotation base in Hangzhou.

Why should a central urban area without top universities attract Google, Baidu, and ByteDance?
There are three trump cards behind it.
The first one is the sincerity of real money.
Shangcheng District’s new talent policy provides financial support of up to 100 million yuan to the world’s top talents and domestic heavyweight mature teams.
The second is companionship cultivation.
Dishi Medical encountered a funding gap when it returned to China from Germany. Shangcheng proactively contacted financial institutions to obtain a credit loan of 1.5 million yuan.
“This tone just continued.” Founder Cui Di recalled.
Today, this company has grown from a team of 3 to over 40 people, and has completed tens of millions of yuan in financing.
There is also a card called speed.
Wu Yizhou, the CEO of Green Shen Tong, placed the East China headquarters of the government and corporate business in Sijiqing Street. The entire process from submission of materials to final completion took only one week.
Before that, she handled taxation for a subsidiary in another city and struggled for two months without getting it done.

Just in April, the Ministry of Commerce just released the “Overall Plan for the Construction of National Service Trade Innovation Development Demonstration Zone”, and Hangzhou was selected into the first batch of 16 demonstration zone construction cities in the country.
It can be called the “king of bombs”.
The “golden triangle” of national strategic support, urban core sector support, and global technology giants’ empowerment will provide full-chain, multi-level support for enterprises to go overseas, and help Shangcheng build a new cross-border overseas industry ecosystem.

In the future, Hangzhou will deepen cooperation with major companies such as Google, fully ensure the construction and operation of the acceleration center, and jointly build Hangzhou into an “overseas acceleration station” for local companies to go global, providing strong support for Hangzhou’s promotion of high-quality development of an open economy.
