Fuzhou Airport’s cross-border e-commerce export value exceeded 1.6 billion yuan, with intercontinental routes achieving remarkable results in boosting sales.

The launch of the "Fuzhou–Paris" all-cargo air route has yielded remarkable results, driving the cross-border e-commerce export value at Fuzhou Changle Airport to exceed 1.6 billion yuan—a significant year-on-year increase. The future opening of additional intercontinental routes will further propel the development of Fuzhou's cross-border e-commerce sector.

In 2025, Fuzhou Airport achieved remarkable results in cross-border e-commerce exports, with a significant breakthrough in export value. According to Fuzhou Changle Airport Customs, a branch of Fuzhou Customs, the “Fuzhou-Paris” all-cargo route, since its launch in April 2025, has operated 80 flights to date, driving nearly 7,000 tons of export cargo volume and serving over 8 million cross-border e-commerce manifests, with a value exceeding 1.37 billion yuan. This achievement, accounting for over 80% of the total, helped Fuzhou Changle Airport’s cross-border e-commerce export value exceed 1.6 billion yuan in 2025, a year-on-year increase of 319.5%, setting a new historical record and fully demonstrating the powerful “cargo-driving” effect of intercontinental routes.

As an important air corridor for Fujian’s cross-border e-commerce to expand into the European market, the “Fuzhou-Paris” all-cargo route has played a crucial role. It has reduced the logistics time between Fuzhou and Europe to approximately 12 hours, greatly promoting the export of domestically produced clothing, footwear, daily necessities, and electronic products through cross-border e-commerce. These goods, via the Paris hub, reach more than ten European countries including France, the Netherlands, and Germany, facilitating the circulation of Chinese goods in the European market.

Wang Zheng, General Manager of the Sihai Expressway Project Department of Fujian Zongteng Group, has a deep understanding of this.

He stated, “The continued operation of this route has significantly enhanced our competitiveness in the European market. Improved logistics efficiency has shortened order delivery cycles by 5 to 7 days, leading to a substantial increase in customer satisfaction. Currently, the value of goods exported through this route accounts for more than 20% of our group’s total European business. In the future, we will further expand the transportation of high-value products, promoting more ‘Made in Fujian’ products to the world.” Currently, 14 e-commerce companies have chosen to conduct cross-border e-commerce export business at Fuzhou Changle Airport. During peak season, the “Fuzhou-Paris” route operates three times a week, transporting nearly 300 tons of cross-border e-commerce goods with a value exceeding 60 million yuan. To ensure efficient and convenient cross-border e-commerce exports, Fuzhou Changle Airport Customs has continuously deepened its collaboration with the airport, airlines, and e-commerce companies, ensuring overtime processing of export goods and improving customs clearance efficiency through end-to-end services. Zhang Jimin, head of the Express Mail Section of Fuzhou Changle Airport Customs, explained: “In response to the continued surge in cross-border e-commerce exports, we have launched micro-innovation projects such as ‘centralized X-ray image review,’ expanded the registered area of cross-border e-commerce supervision sites to 6,500 square meters, and added two security checkpoints, reducing overall customs clearance time by 46%.” Looking ahead to 2026, with the opening of more intercontinental routes such as “Fuzhou-East Midlands,” Fuzhou’s international freight route coverage will continue to expand, promoting a more complete international logistics channel layout. The core hub of cross-border e-commerce along the “21st Century Maritime Silk Road” will also accelerate its rise, providing a broader platform for Chinese goods to reach the world.
