EZVIZ Camera ranks first in the world, and security AI reshapes the smart home landscape

Following its new product launch in Hangzhou this April, EZVIZ’s strategic moves have drawn significant attention within the smart home IoT industry. Centering its AI implementation on security, the company has maintained its position as the global leader in consumer camera shipments and introduced products such as a local large-model hub, thereby ushering in a new paradigm for AI-driven smart home security.

After the new product launch conference in Hangzhou in April, the entire smart home IoT industry was discussing EZVIZ’s strategic move.
Many people have only seen the intensive release of new AI products, but have not understood a key signal: when most companies are chasing AI to show off their skills, EZVIZ has made “security” a new moat for the implementation of AI.

When AI is implemented and begins to fight for safety boundaries, the rules of the industry have changed.
Why is it that EZVIZ is the world’s number one in consumer cameras and the first to launch a local large-model console?
The logic behind this is worth pondering for all smart home players.

The 2025 data released by IDC is very interesting: EZVIZ continues to rank first in the world in consumer cameras with 18.9 million units shipped and a market share of 13.2%.
This achievement is not achieved by low prices and high volume, but is the natural result of 13 years of continuous exploration of security and intelligence scenarios.

EZVIZ has anchored the core positioning of “safety protection” since it launched the first-generation smart camera “Red Panda” in 2013, and has never deviated from it.
After so many years, many brands in the industry have pursued the trend and changed tracks. Only EZVIZ has thoroughly mastered the basic skills of intelligent vision, from hardware to algorithms to cloud services, and developed the entire link through self-research.

The real industry leader is never one who grabs the limelight, but is built up little by little through the trust of users.
This can be seen from R&D investment: from 2022 to 2024, EZVIZ’s R&D investment increased from 603 million yuan to 814 million yuan, maintaining growth year after year.
As of mid-2025, more than 1,600 patents have been accumulated, including 345 authorized invention patents.
These technological deposits have finally become safe and stable that users can perceive.

Nowadays, many AI smart home products have fallen into the misunderstanding of “AI for AI’s sake”, piling up parameters to show off concepts, but ignoring the core needs of users – data security and stable use.
EZVIZ can achieve the number one position in the world because it has essentially hit the core of user needs: for smart cameras, stable protection and privacy protection are a hundred times more important than flashy functions.

At this press conference, EZVIZ AI CoreX local smart center launched by EZVIZ actually pierced the window paper for the implementation of home AI.
Many users want to enjoy the convenience of AI, but are also worried about the privacy risks of uploading data to the cloud. No one has yet provided a perfect solution to this contradiction.

The answer given by EZVIZ is very straightforward: give users the right to choose.
If you want cloud AI services to be available and value privacy and response speed, use local AI capabilities.
This host is equipped with EZVIZ Blue Ocean large model 2.0 and Home Vita intelligent body, 24G + 128G memory and 64T computing power, directly putting large model capabilities into the user’s home.

It not only solves privacy issues, but also the pain points of management and control of home smart devices.
Nowadays, in many families, smart devices come from different brands, and it is difficult to connect them if they work independently.
EZVIZ AI CoreX is not only compatible with all EZVIZ devices, but also supports third-party products of the Matter protocol. All devices can be managed and controlled uniformly, and complex scene linkages can be triggered using natural language.

In view of the most troublesome problems for camera users: cluttered alarms and difficulty in tracing back, this local host can also intelligently aggregate messages and recordings from devices throughout the house, automatically generate daily and weekly highlights, and also support accurate natural language retrieval.
This function hits the pain points of many experienced users. Think about it, if you want to find a specific segment of a certain day, you don’t have to drag the progress bar bit by bit. You can find it by just saying a sentence. The efficiency improvement is not the slightest.

When AI is implemented in the home scene, what matters is not how big the model parameters are, but whether it can solve the real pain points of users and maintain the bottom line of safety.

This time EZVIZ released four categories of new AI products in one go. Each product can see the product logic of “safety + AI”. It is not a new product for the sake of making new products, but an upgrade to address the pain points of specific scenarios.

The AI portable camera EZVIZ Pika, specially designed for children, is a typical example.
It is “life’s first AI device”. It is equipped with dual AI engines that can capture everything, answer questions intelligently, and have dual 4K cameras on the front and rear to record the child’s exploration process.
What’s more important is the all-round safety design for children’s use scenarios: the body is only 80 grams, and the lightweight design is suitable for children to carry; built-in GPS + Beidou dual positioning, parents can keep track of their children’s location at any time; integrated China Telecom and China Unicom dual 4G cards, providing lifetime free traffic, online anytime and anywhere; supports high-definition two-way video calls, parent-child interaction is not limited by distance.

In the field of smart locks, the Y31 Ultra AI face video lock launched by EZVIZ this time also brings new tricks to AI interaction.
It uses a 4.4-inch OLED outdoor smart large screen to replace the traditional password area, a 360° panoramic lens for monitoring outside the door without blind spots, AI face recognition and fingerprint recognition, taking into account safety and convenience.
What’s even more special is that it turns generative AI into a warm family companion: based on the Blue Ocean Model 2.0, it launches an interactive 3D intelligent agent, as well as a “mountain and sea auspicious beast” cultivation gameplay. Users can also customize the image of the intelligent agent, turning the door lock from a simple security tool into a smart home entrance with a sense of companionship.

The Star 10 Master AI steam scrubber robot that cleans the track uses AI to solve the core pain points of cleaning.
It is equipped with a fluorite star world model and multi-eye visual perception technology, which can identify obstacles, distinguish the ground material and dirt level, and automatically adjust the cleaning intensity, so that the more you use it, the better you will understand your home.
The most amazing thing is the first lifetime purification self-circulation system, which eliminates the need to change water for life by distilling waste water. It can also extract water molecules from the air to replenish the clean water tank, completely getting rid of dependence on external water sources.

EZVIZ has also made targeted upgrades for camera products in outdoor scenes. It is the first Wi-Fi/4G dual-mode, dual-network intelligent backup and seamless switching, which solves the pain point of relying on a single network and makes outdoor deployment more stable and reliable.
As the pioneer of 4G lifetime traffic cameras, EZVIZ has extended this advantage to more categories this time. The smart doorbell CP8 4G waterproof version also supports 4G lifetime traffic-free, completely getting rid of power and Wi-Fi wiring restrictions.

At this press conference, EZVIZ upgraded its brand mission from “committed to a safe smart life that everyone can easily enjoy” to “creating a better life with safe smart technology.”
Behind this change is the upgrading of brand strategy from “guardian” to “co-creator”.

What is more noteworthy is that EZVIZ and the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology released the “Three-dimensional Trust: AI Visual IoT Operation Security White Paper”, which sorted out the challenges of AI visual IoT in equipment security, data compliance, global operations, etc., and provided industry-level solutions.
This is not a pure corporate behavior, but the responsibility of leading companies towards the industry – when AI enters daily life, security requires the entire industry to work together to build a solid foundation.

At the same time, EZVIZ also launched the “Tong Xin Exploring the World” children’s safe growth charity project, using the AI pika Pika released this time as the core tool to hold offline parent-child exploration camps to encourage children to explore the world under safety guarantees.
Combining product innovation with social welfare also coincides with the new mission of “creating a better life together”.

AI technology is not good or bad. The key is who uses it and what boundaries are used.
Only AI with boundaries can go further.
Now the entire industry is rushing to add AI to its products. It seems that without adding AI, it is not advanced enough.
But EZVIZ’s series of actions tell us: What users need is not AI products for AI’s sake, but AI that can solve problems, maintain security, and bring real convenience.

EZVIZ can be number one in the world and insist on putting safety first when upgrading AI. This is not conservative, but a clear-eyed long-term perspective.
When the industry is feverishly chasing technical parameters, if someone sticks to the fundamentals of security and provides users with truly valuable products, this path will be more stable and further.
Next, the competition in smart home AI will definitely shift from “fighting for parameters” to “fighting for safety boundaries” to see who can truly reassure users.
EZVIZ has taken the first step, and more players will follow in this direction – this is what AI should look like when it enters family life.
