On June 12, the 6th Innovation Day of Epiroc and Gaia was successfully held in Xi’an.
With the theme of “anchoring R&D to empower industry transformation and deepening customer-driven business growth”, the event gathered hundreds of elite customers in the mining machinery industry.
The event focused on four core achievements: the launch of 25 new products and solutions, the unveiling and mass production of 2 blockbuster technologies, 9 strategic cooperation signings, and 26 customer innovation achievements commendations.
During the same period, five major industry forums and 22 technical seminars were also held, comprehensively demonstrating the staged achievements of the two major brands taking root in the Chinese market and creating value with customers.

During the event, Jess Kindler, President of Epiroc Group’s Equipment and Service Business Area, accepted an exclusive interview and had an in-depth dialogue around dual-brand strategy, localization layout, R&D concepts and customer service system.
He emphasized that “all innovation starts with customers; all R&D ends with value.” This is the core logic of Epiroc’s technology R&D and business layout.
In front-line scenarios such as mining, infrastructure, and exploration, the real pain points faced by customers have always been the primary goal of Epiroc’s R&D breakthroughs.
Relying on the group’s new business structure, Epiroc has fully integrated equipment, tools and after-sales services to build integrated solutions covering the entire life cycle for customers.
This integrated service system achieves efficient response and collaborative linkage between the two major brands, greatly simplifies the customer docking process, and improves overall operating efficiency.
With its global sales and service network, Epiroc provides solid support for domestic mining companies going overseas.
The HYLOGGER 4 digital core innovation center unveiled this time will push the domestic geological prospecting industry into a new stage of “digital intelligence”.
According to Jess Kindler, Epiroc is determined to be a partner with customers on their long-term development journey, which is the foundation for the brand to continue to create value.
As Epiroc’s second brand in the Chinese market, GIA has always adhered to its original intention of “born for the Chinese rock drilling market” and deeply implemented the development concept of “in China, for China”.
Comprehensively meet local needs from three dimensions: service, research and development, and product design.
By going deep into customer operation sites and relying on nearly a hundred local dealers across the country, we have established an agile service network, which can not only respond quickly to various on-site problems, but also understand the pain points of front-line operations.
At the same time, it has completed the in-depth integration of local R&D and supply chain, relying on local teams and high-quality suppliers, combined with on-site feedback to accelerate product iteration, and adapt to the dynamic changes in market demand in a shorter cycle.
In view of the unique domestic mining terrain, operating environment and construction habits, the team will also optimize product design to create truly “down-to-earth” special equipment.

The multiple major announcements on this Innovation Day are a vivid reflection of Epiroc and Gaia’s deep commitment to innovation and customer service.
25 new products and solutions were launched at the event, covering mainstream fields such as open-pit mining, underground engineering, exploration and development, construction infrastructure, drilling tools and services; the outdoor equipment display area allowed customers to experience product performance and application scenarios up close.
Two major unveiling ceremonies became the focus of the audience: Epiroc’s HYLOGGER 4 digital core innovation center was officially unveiled. As a one-stop mobile digital core innovation platform, it deeply integrates mineral identification, data integration and intelligent decision-making capabilities to lay a solid foundation for the digital transformation of mining exploration; Gaia’s GIA 0338 rock drill successfully completed mass production release, marking that this core product has officially entered the stage of full localization, and the brand’s local R&D, manufacturing and delivery capabilities have once again jumped.
The 9 cooperation projects reached on site cover equipment cooperation, simulator training, channel expansion, joint development of special working conditions and other directions, promoting the rapid implementation of innovative technologies on the front line.
The event also commended 26 classic cases of customer innovative applications and industry records, covering diverse scenarios such as plateau operations, geothermal development, and cost reduction of drilling tools, and visually presented the actual value achieved by customers through product empowerment.
The five major industry forums linked up with 22 technical seminars, bringing together industry experts, scientific research institutes and customer partners to explore topics such as equipment application, digital exploration, and response to complex working conditions, giving full play to the function of the innovation day as a technology exchange platform.
After six years of intensive development, Epiroc and Gaia Innovation Days have grown into a benchmark event in the mining and infrastructure fields in recent years.
In the first five events, the two major brands have launched more than 100 new products and solutions, continuing to inject innovative momentum into the development of the industry.
Standing at a new starting point of the sixth Innovation Day, Jess Kindler conveyed a clear and firm commitment to the market: In the future, Epiroc will continue to drive industry transformation with its R&D strength and always lead business growth with customer needs.
As the industry accelerates its evolution towards intelligence and digitalization, Epiroc and Gaia will take into account global technological advantages and localized operational capabilities, continue to go deep into the work site, listen to customers, and continuously optimize products and service systems.
The brand has always believed that the cooperation between enterprises and customers is by no means a short-term transaction, but a long-term value symbiosis.
With solid R&D capabilities, complete service network and in-depth localization layout, Epiroc and Gaia will continue to play a leading role in the industry, set new service standards with practical actions, and work side by side with their customers to jointly draw a new picture of high-quality development in the mining and infrastructure industry.
