First, let’s look at my country’s foreign trade data.
Customs statistics show that the total import and export value of my country’s goods trade in the first four months of 2026 was 16.23 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 14.9%, and both imports and exports achieved double-digit growth.
In April, import and export volume reached 4.38 trillion yuan.
The trade structure continues to be optimized, and bonded logistics leads the growth rate.
The scale of trade with ASEAN and the EU has increased steadily, but trade with the United States has declined.
Private enterprises have become the main force in foreign trade, with outstanding performance in the import and export of mechanical and electrical products, and imports of crude oil and agricultural products also maintain a growth trend.
This series of data shows that my country’s foreign trade has maintained a good development trend since the beginning of 2026. Although it faces some external challenges, the overall situation remains stable.

On the international front, the U.S. Court of International Trade ruled that Trump’s 10% tariff on most U.S. imported goods was illegal.
The tariffs were activated in February this year. The Trump administration mistakenly invoked Section 122 of the Trade Act of 1974, and it did not meet the statutory application conditions of this provision.
Trump’s previous round of tariffs has been halted by the Supreme Court, and this ruling delineates the boundaries of his trade authority.
The government is likely to appeal. If it loses, it will need to refund the relevant taxes. The White House has not yet responded.
This ruling may have a certain impact on the global trade pattern. In particular, companies involved in U.S. import business need to pay close attention to subsequent developments.

The U.S. Customs has also taken new actions, and the inspection rate has increased significantly.
Following the large-scale 5H cargo inspection in February, the 9H qualification verification was launched again.
9H only reviews documents, focusing on verifying the authenticity, compliance qualifications and consistency of customs declaration materials of the importer. Abnormal goods will be detained and incur high demurrage charges.
Affected by the new policies for guarantee companies, a large number of newly registered Bonds have been frozen, and inspections of air and sea transportation have simultaneously intensified.
It coincides with the Prime Day stocking season, and delays may impact warehousing and profits.
This will undoubtedly increase operating costs and risks for companies engaged in trade with the United States.

In addition, the Office of the United States Trade Representative (USTR) listed Vietnam as a “Priority Foreign Country” (PFC) in the latest “2026 Special 301 Report”. This is the first time in 13 years that a country has been included in the list.
The USTR pointed out that Vietnam has serious deficiencies in counterfeiting, online piracy and border enforcement. According to regulations, it must decide within the next 30 days whether to launch a formal 301 investigation. If it is officially opened, export categories such as electronic machinery, furniture, textiles and clothing made in Vietnam may face tariff adjustments.
This move may have a greater impact on Vietnam’s export trade, and will also affect the global layout of related industrial chains.

Finally, let’s pay attention to the Southeast Asian e-commerce market.
Similarweb data shows that in April 2026, the total number of visits to the six major websites of Shopee and Lazada in Southeast Asia was 615.4 million, a decrease of 4.2% month-on-month and a year-on-year increase of 2.9%. It has increased year-on-year for two consecutive months.
Among them, Shopee had 517.4 million visits, a month-on-month decrease of 4.1%; Lazada had 71.91 million visits, a month-on-month decrease of 5.5%.
Lazada in the Philippines and Tiki in Vietnam increased slightly month-on-month, while Tokopedia in Indonesia declined.
This shows that the Southeast Asian e-commerce market still has strong vitality, but there are certain differences in the development of different platforms and regions.

To sum up, the cross-border e-commerce industry will face a complex and ever-changing international environment in 2026. Enterprises need to pay close attention to policy dynamics and market changes, and adjust strategies in a timely manner to cope with various challenges and seize development opportunities.
