In April 2026, a high-profile project, Zoomlion’s ultra-large mining machinery intelligent manufacturing transformation project, officially started construction in the Xiangtan Economic Development Zone.
This project is undertaken by Minmetals 23 Metallurgical Industry Co., Ltd. with a total investment of 3 billion yuan. It will be built into the world’s top mining equipment intelligent industrial park in the future, adding strong impetus to the expansion and upgrading of Hunan’s world-class construction machinery cluster.
This project is located at the intersection of Yingai Road and Baishi East Road, Yuhu District (Xiangtan Economic Development Zone), Xiangtan City, covering an area of 879 acres.
It is not an ordinary production and assembly base, but a world-leading mining machinery intelligent park integrating R&D, manufacturing, testing and service.
Several new intelligent production lines will be built here. After reaching capacity, it is expected to produce 1,480 mining machines annually, with an annual output value of up to 12.1 billion yuan.

The construction site is east of Yingai Road and north of Baishi East Road in Xiangtan Economic Development Zone. Such a superior geographical location provides a good foundation for the development of the project.
The construction unit is Zoomlion Mining Machinery (Xiangtan) Co., Ltd., and the construction unit is Minmetals 23rd Metallurgical Construction Group Branch. These two powerful companies work together to provide a strong guarantee for the smooth advancement of the project.
The project officially started on April 10, 2026, and its core construction content is very rich.
There is a R&D test center to provide technical support for product innovation and upgrading; 8 welding lines, 18 large boring and milling machines, and multiple sets of coating/finishing/assembly intelligent production lines. These advanced production equipment and production lines will greatly improve production efficiency and product quality; there are also supporting warehousing and environmentally friendly workshops to ensure that the production process is orderly and environmentally friendly.
The implementation of this project is of great significance.
It will make up for the shortcomings in the production capacity of super-large mining machines in the Chang-Zhutan construction machinery industry chain, making the entire industry chain more complete.
