Data show that the total import and export value of my country’s goods trade in the first five months reached 20.68 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 15.3%.
In an environment where global economic recovery is sluggish and international trade barriers are increasing, China’s foreign trade still delivers double-digit growth, fully demonstrating its strong development resilience.
The total trade volume of 20.68 trillion yuan directly demonstrates the scale of China’s foreign trade.
Calculated, the average daily foreign trade volume exceeds 130 billion yuan, which ranks among the best in the world.
What is even more proud is that today’s foreign trade growth no longer relies on traditional low-end OEM products, but relies on hard-core technology, high-quality products and a complete industrial chain to seize the global market with real competitiveness.
In this foreign trade growth, the “three new industries” have become the biggest highlights, namely, new energy vehicles, photovoltaic products, and lithium batteries.
In the first five months, the export volume of these three types of products continued to rise, with a year-on-year increase of more than 30%, becoming the core driving force for foreign trade growth.

As a core supporting product in the new energy industry, lithium batteries also rank among the top in the world in terms of market share.
Whether it is new energy vehicles, energy storage equipment, or various types of smart equipment, they are all inseparable from the support of lithium batteries.
Relying on leading technology and mature production capacity, leading domestic companies occupy most of the global market and have a firm say in the industry.
In addition to the “Three New Products”, the proportion of exports of mechanical and electrical products and high-tech products has also continued to increase, and now exceeds 60%.
This means that my country’s foreign trade structure is constantly being optimized and upgraded, the added value of products is getting higher and higher, and industrial development is gradually moving towards the high end of the value chain.
